Jeremiah hails from Bowie, MD, via Riverdale Baptist. He will compete with the incoming Aussie, O'Kelley, for the vacant punting role. Gunner Kane did a good job when called upon last year. I'm hopeful - and no offense to Jeremiah intended - our punters are bored to death this season. I'd like to see our punters selling hot dogs in BFS during games, serving the O-Line nachos on the sidelines between possessions, giving massages to the placekickers' legs from overuse, and perhaps giving the MRD leaders a break every now and then as their arms get tired from having to play WATDOJMU so often after scores. In other words, for older fartekers like me, we'd like to see our punters reminding one of the Maytag Repairman.

Having said that, we might punt once this season. Perhaps twice. And, if we do, we expect it dropped inside the opposing 1 yard line. No pressure, btw.

Great reference to the Maytag Repairman. And yeah I am old enough to remember that there were 2 guys to play the role. Gordon Jump from WKRP was one but I can not remember the other!!

Edit: Just looked it up. There have been 4 Maytag Repairmen. Jesse White was the first (67-89), Gordon Jump (89-2003), Hardy Rawls (2003-2007) and Clay Jackson (2007 to recently). Maytag is currently looking for a new guy. Not aware there have been that mnay. Not watching TV is the reason I guess!!
