No, the SBC is in front of no one. Meaningless poll or not, the Orlando Sentinel Countdown shows the conferences stacking up as follows:
1)AAC 2)CUSA 3)MWC 4)MAC 5)SBC.

Maybe it's just how everybody still perceives the SBC but the fact remains, the SBC came in dead last. Again.

The Orlando Sentinel??? OH NO! Not the Be-all-end-all authority on college sports!! Dear lord!! How will we go on?????????

Umm how bout you go with end of the season conf rankings where you finished behind the Belt in 2016 by just about every reputable ranking out there and not an Orlando Sentinel prediction If we are not ahead we are sitting right next to you and we are in drive not reverse....buh bye

Things in life you can count on.
Arkansas State will not be picked to win the Sun Belt in football
Sun Belt will be picked at the bottom of the conferences.

Yet 37.5% of the time AState takes at least a share.
Sun Belt has finished last in the performance pool what once in the last four years.

You can also count on BRtransplant having a death grip on any semblance of former CUSA relevance and scanning the Sun Belt board for any CUSA posts.

The man is using the average ranking per conference from a no-name Florida newspaper to prove how CUSA is the better conference. He's starting to get desperate. I'd worship the OS too if it was the only thing left to prove my point.

They have good match ups this year with us so be prepared.....As in the past he will go with just the sterile record and completley ignore which teams actually played each other and where they finished in the respective conferences.

Ahh yes, dead last in preseason again. We must suck. I mean never mind the fact we finished 3rd among the G5 last year in the POSTSEASON rankings, some silly Orlando Newspaper ranked us last preseason, so we suck again.

The Orlando Sentinel from Florida is ranking a conference with 2 terrible Florida teams higher than a conference with no Florida teams...got it.

I truly believe that G5 relevance is about gone, period. We all scramble to claim the title of tallest midget every year while our programs barely break even. Meanwhile, even the worst of the P5 programs are banking $millions every year. It's really ridiculous to debate which G5 conference is the better of the five. It matters very little anymore.

Tell me all about this magical bygone golden age when non-major FBS conferences were relevant compared to today.

Was everyone raking in millions per school on TV deals? Was there a guaranteed spot in a major bowl game? Were they ever getting seven figures per school in postseason money the old BCS system? (Hint: No).

Sounds to me like you're just doing spin control because you realize it's not tenable anymore to say CUSA is a step up from the Sun Belt.

It matters to the tune of MILLIONS of dollars - MILLIONS more than CUSA received last year from the CFP.

Man, you guys really do have some small man complex over here. Your OP lists CUSA's budgets alongside your own for comparison. Thread was mostly dead until a La Tech poster responded to some bait and you guys swarmed.

Meanwhile, people on the CUSA board are high-fiving each other for being #2 in the G5 conferences on the Orlando Sentinel Countdown and laughing about how the Sun Belt is at the bottom.

The "tiniest midget" has won two of the last three games in the "tiny midget" bowl. It also is only pointless to debate the better G5 conference if the one your school participates in has been in a death spiral since the AAC was created.

So you're wrong on two counts; the tiniest midget does matter, and the G5 conference ranking do matter. I'm sure that they would matter to you again if C-USA was the pretty girl you thought she was when you swiped right.

Because the Sun Belt has a perception problem. Perception isn't reality and it isn't factual in the case of the Sun Belt. Everyone saw the writing on the wall with the dumping of the F_U schools for App and Georgia Southern. Now the Sun Belt dumps Idaho and NMSU, and adds another school that appears to be ready to be better than at least the bottom half of what C-USA has to offer, including the F_U programs, ODU, Charlotte, and the Texas schools.

Budgets matter very little when you begin comparing results. Japanese companies spend far less money on production of their vehicles yet they run longer, do not have as many defects, and are less expensive out of the door. Better production, less money to work with. Deal with it.

I listed CUSA's budgets because of the merger rumors that pop up all over message boards and social media. I did it to show that while CUSA has a slightly better average, in the grand scheme of things, there's very little difference in the two conferences.

Thanks for playing. 07-coffee3
