Coaches Hot Seat Ratings
I guess this is a good off-season read although they have Tyson Summers listed as "safe and sound" when there is no way in hell he should be less than "pressure is mounting"

Paul Petrino might get fired for winning too much. It's making his bosses look bad.

Tyson Summers seat may have just gotten doused with ice water.

I see they gave Coach Joey Jones a "2". I'd say he's much closer to a "3" (maybe even a "3.5" if he had added hooks).

RE: Coaches Hot Seat Ratings
Pretty the only reason Summers is rated just as safe as Satterfield, Brown, Patrino, and Anderson is either:

1 - they are taking into account that Ga Southern can't afford to buy out a coach's contract

or

2 - they dont know anything about the SBC

My vote is for a bit of both.

RE: Coaches Hot Seat Ratings
(Not the numbers from the article, but my own numbers.)

Scott Satterfield - 1
Neal Brown - 1
Blake Anderson - 2
Tyson Summers - 4 (two more seasons at the most, a third season not guaranteed)
Matt Viator - 2
Joey Jones - 3 (getting warm, probably not in do-or-die season quite yet)
Sean Elliot - 1 (just starting)
Doug Martin - 4 (probably the most likely to be gone after this season)
Bobby Petrino - 1
Joe Moglia - 1
Mark Hudspeth - 3
Everitt Withers - 2

IMO, "untouchable" is someone like Nick Saban, Bobby Bowden, Joe Paterno, or dare I say it Larry Blakeney. I don't think there are any zeros in the Sun Belt or in the G5.

RE: Coaches Hot Seat Ratings
Summers is gone this year with anything below a 7 win season. So is his boss

He is alive...long time no see.

CTS will be safe with a bowl appearance. As that will be seen as a move forward even though he tore it down to begin with.

With Cook getting a two year deal it actually saves CTS from being fired next year as I doubt we want to pay two coaches off especially when we will likely be shelling out six months more pay and other expenses to two butt hurt OC's.

This one is more accurate

RE: Coaches Hot Seat Ratings
This is only Withers second year, and he inherited a train wreck, so I'll not rag on him at this time.

As far as "hot seats" at TXST go, there appears to be no such thing, at least not the kind that would lead to any firing. We're content to let Coaches run our teams into the ground year after year after year . . . at least until their contract expires.
And even then, our AD just might renew 'em.

My vote is for a bit of both.

Apparently we had a $1mil+ budget surplus this past year.

We could have afforded it.

The public opinion cost probably wasn't one we could afford though. Mighty hard to get someone to come in after that, knowing they have to produce in 1 year.
