Good summary, but surprise! They are going to rank USF and UCF ahead of us. I like our chances against those two this year. Now if we can just solve that Navy puzzle...

What gives the Orlando Sentinel poll any validity? I've been curious about this for weeks since we've been repping and linking it. Seems just like more click-bait from a dying industry.

What gives ANY pre-season poll any validity? They are just as wrong and look just as stupid by week 6 or 7 as any others.

There should be NO football polls until at least week 4. That way the pre-season hype around a team or conference can at least be proven to be true or false.

It gives us interwebs folks fodder to argue about during this dead period until Fall practice starts.

That it does. At least the coaches poll and the AP is a representation across the country. And some of the others are algorithms or advanced metrics.

With the Orlando newspaper, I picture a couple of guys in a room wearing Mickey Mouse ears, and with very limited national resources to cover recruiting and depth chart intricacies.
