Wichita State v. College of Charleston, 2011 NIT. Last round before MSG. We played well and CoC was never really a threat, so Goudelock was given the green light to shoot from wherever the hell he felt like. Was taking and making from 27 feet and further if given the space. Between that display and the feeling of accomplishment and community as everyone in the building, 10500 Shocker fans, sang "New York New York," that is my greatest single game memory.
Other contenders
A random game against UAB in like 09. Snowed so bad they only played the game because UAB got to the stadium before the roads became impassable for the bus. Technically a sellout, but only 5000 people showed. 5000 loud and passionate people. A great, surprisingly loud, and intimate game.
The sports bar where I watched WSU v. Indiana in the NCAA tourney. Again, pure community and energy.

One of my favorite Tiger games was the Memphis / Virginia Tech NIT game. The FedEx Forum had maybe only 10K in attendance, but we were loud and into the game. I still recall this dunk from Carney (about 30 second mark).

Truth is I've only seen half of the following games but they all deserve mention:
Go to 11:20 below to see perhaps the best team ECU ever defeated in #11 Cuse (in the Carrier Dome no less), a team that beat SEC champion Florida, went undefeated in the Big East & beat a ranked Ohio St in the Hall of Fame bowl. Then skip to 13:58 to see #20 ECU knock off #23 Pitt in DFS with a 2-point conversion in the final minute to win 24-23.

It's a shame that so-called "good fans" can't let go of the Larry Porter bashing. Was he ready for the job? Probably not. But he was the ONLY one who would take that job and follow the sh*tfest & public bully pulpit rant of Tommy West. Even worse, he is one of our own but I would expect no more from our "Booster Group" bunch.
Thank God for Fred Smith and other boosters who pushed Tiger Football to the forefront after 40 years of neglect and scraps.

our AD, President, and HH needed to hear that speech. Porter was a great hire on paper. Memphis grad, named recruiter of the year while at LSU, experienced asst coach and he wanted the job.
it just didn't work out that way and he's had no trouble finding work as an asst since leaving Memphis.

Every Bearcat fan is dead on about UC / Pitt in 2009. It's the greatest sporting event I've ever attended. The game is so incredible given UC's history. UC sitting #3 in the BCS. I never could have imagined that growing up a fan. UC had an outside shot at a National Championship game birth if Nebraska somehow beat Texas. Everything seemed to go wrong most of the first half and yet I can remember texting my sister down 21 points, telling her this team would find a way and "We are going to win this game"
Then Mardy Gilyard ran back the kickoff for a TD right before the half and I texted "We are f-ing winning this game!" Everything that happened to set up the end was insane. UC missing a PAT, later getting a 2 point conversion, Pitt screwing up a PAT after UC had tied and then Pitt took the lead with 1:36 to go. The amazing pass to Binns down the sideline and the PAT to win. Back to Back BCS bids, an unbeaten 2009 and an outside shot at playing for a championship. It was incredible given UC's history. I can't imagine anything topping it for me.

I don't disagree with any of this, Drew except that West could have expressed it publicly a WHOLE lot sooner. Instead, he chose to take the money and extension from RC to be quiet for 4 more years after Orgeron got the Ole Miss job that Tommy and Fichtner coveted in '05. That public rant was more about his being angry over getting fired mid-season after the MTSU loss.
Larry Porter was fairly compensated when he left Memphis and has been a very successful assistant at Arizona St, Texas, UNC and now Auburn. I'm happy for him. Just wish a couple of former HH Presidents could quit referring to his two years as a disaster. Fuente inherited an entire class at Memphis that made up the bulk of the defense tigerjeb previously claimed he enjoyed so much in Miami vs. BYU. He oughta be thanking Larry instead of bashing him.

1998 NCAA tournament Valparaiso vs. Ole Miss at the Myriad in Oklahoma City. Bryce Drew hit the game winning shot to propel 13 seed Valpo over 4 seed Ole Miss.
Honorable Mention - TCU vs. Utah in 2009...college gameday visiting TCUs campus in the morning capped off by a 55-28 pummeling of Utah in front of a standing room only crowd at the old Amon Carter.
theres been about a half dozen ECU games mentioned that I've been to that I wont rehash. It pains me to say it as a Dolphins fan, but I was at the Meadowlands for the Monday Night Miracle. That was one hell of a ride; sucks to lose, but an incredible game.

CDR's dunk over Kevin Love and Dorsey's point & laugh are still fun to watch. Several big football games stick out either for the upset that it represented, individual play, etc.. The Miami BB as you mentioned, many DeAngelo games. The Tigers first win in Oxford. The game in Jackson where Lloyd Patterson was waist deep in the end zone and the ref ruled that the ground caused him to fumble, the win over Bama had some huge efforts.
1. UCF over Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl. Putting up with 2 days of condescending Baylor Fans saying how "cute it was" for UCF to be there but there was no way UCF could keep up with Baylor speed.
2. UCF at Louisville 2013. A sea of red there to watch their savior Teddy Bridgewater lead them to the NC. BB had something else in mind
3. UCF over UGA in the Liberty Bowl. Of all teams, to beat UGA... was special
4. UCF gets the one and only D2 Noise Penalty in history when D2 UCF had 31,000 fans and the QB stpped the game 7 times.
5. 1985 Eddie O'Brien kicked a 55-yard field goal with 3 seconds remaining, lifting the University of Central Florida to a dramatic 39-37 upset victory over Bethune-Cookman College. The genesis of UCF football. The day UCF took its first big step forward.

People can ***** about the refs all they want these days but being in any conference, even if its not the best and having refs as well as instant replay has stopped a lot of that crime.
