The only ones I have spent any significant amount of time in are Cincinnati, Tampa, and Houston. There are things I like and dislike about all 3. Memphis did look like a dump, but I only passed through. Looks aren't everything though -- I went to Detroit a few weeks ago and had a blast.

yeah, we did the Motor City Bowl (Memphis vs Akron) and had a lot of fun.

When I tried to make a report, the PD was like, "Hey, you lost $200, what do you want us to do?"

If I ever go back to NOLA, it'll be too soon.

If you've only done Bourbon Street and the French Quarter then you really havent done New Orleans right. That area has its place but the city is truly much more than that.

yep...It's like thinking walking up and down Beale and eating at the rendezvous means you've 'done memphis'

lol, go right on thinking that.

Yeah, it has blues and BBQ, but I also dare anyone to walk somewhere alone after dark.

I do it ALL the time. The area around the Liberty Bowl is Cooper-Young and CBU...you also have the Coke bottling plant and a RR loading/unloading site.

lots of great places to eat like Central BBQ and Soul Fish Cafe.

of course, I also didn't feel unsafe walking around NO at night...so maybe I'm just not afraid of people.

and I lived a couple blocks off of Beale Street for 5 years. Never had an problems. Walked at night by myself pretty much every night. Never one problem minus some drunk Germantowner almost hitting me with their car on a Saturday night.

since moving back to the burbs from Central Gardens I've noticed more bad drivers in Germantown/Cordova than I ever saw around Cooper-Young or Overton Square. G'town parkway is an utter nightmare.

I had a scary looking dude approach me at the far end of Beale St, outside the barricades at 2 AM and told me "Trolley aint runnin no more... lemme show you where the cabs be at"... and he motioned for me to head towards the river with him. He was looking around a lot, too. Yeah I didn't want to die... I found the nearest cop and hung for a second.

the trolleys aren't running anymore and you can often find cabs parked at Beale and Riverside by Beale Street landing waiting to take drunks home.

dude gave you good advice.

I moved out to the burbs recently too. Drunk driving is much worse out here I've noticed. I guess if you live in Midtown or Downtown you can just walk to bars.

Uber and Lyft people. No reason ever to drive drunk anymore.

Birmingham - is pretty awful, boring, and run down
Dallas - I am a cowboys fan too, just not a fan of the city :/
Atlanta - It has some cool things but overall I did not enjoy
LA - Overrated
Hartford - boring

Yea. Maybe he wouldve been more comfortable with a different racial make up of the nice man who helped him.

BTW, Wouldnt be shocked if it was Willie. Willie is the neighborhood bum of South Main. Everybody loves him(except for Double J's. lol. he almost burned the place down trying to stay warm one night 2 years ago).

You can always tell who lives around South Main and who is not from the neighborhood by how they treat Willie.

One more thing that I found odd about Memphis...

What in God's name are the Boll Weevils??? They were the weirdest bunch of people I'd ever seen, and they acted like they owned the place.

True. However, that makes the on campus party scene that much better. Anyway, here are actual photos from the entrance to the UConn Campus:

Never been to Storrs and this isn't AAC but I'm gonna throw Manhattan, KS as the most boring Major University town.

Nobody's going to disagree with you there. Lawrence draws all the college town craziness in Kansas to it. Manhattan attracts farmers, engineers, and people who can't remember what day Saint Patrick's Day falls on.

Worst city in the AAC? Tulsa, because screw Tulsa.

Seems like many of your complaints when choosing a city you don't like is safety. If that is your basis of judgement, you'll love Wichita... 03-yawn
