Well, it would be the most profitable assortment for both of us.
Here's an off the wall proposal: move 3 from the sec to the acc, then move 7 from the big 12 to the sec. cleaner geographic setup. I'd say Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky might make the most sense for that. The 18th in the acc would be ND. The sec would pick up Texas+1, OU, OSU, Kansas, KState, and ISU. This is obviously absurd but it's the off season ?
If you were going to move any schools from the SEC to the ACC, you would only need to move one (South Carolina).
Assuming that Notre Dame stays semi-indpendent (there are advantages for ESPN: gains access to at least one west coast game per year ((Standord or USC)), keeps B1G football out of the exclusive hands of FOX), moving South Carolina to the ACC with West Virginia allows the SEC to take Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. This moves all of the value out of the Big 12 to the SEC/ACC, and the mouse can provide a landing spot for the other 6 in the AAC.
The problem with moving schools out of the SEC is that their paydays would shrink. If ESPN ever wanted to rearrange the furniture Then they need to level the pay between the two. Then you move the redundant schools from each. Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Auburn to the ACC and N.C. State and Virginia Tech to the SEC maximizes exposure for both. But, the schools would have to want to leave. Maybe Vanderbilt would show some interest if the money was equal, but I doubt Ole Miss or Auburn would. Besides, all that really need be done is to merge the ACC & SEC and call our conferences divisions and our divisions subdivisions. Then with time you could geographically realign the subdivisions.
