Temple Football Recruiting
So as of a week ago, Temple was sitting at 2 commits for 2018. Some fans were a little worried. Then the last week happened... https://temple.rivals.com/commitments/football/2018

Things got pretty exciting today with three commits with multiple P5 offers.

I saw that Cincy picked up a couple of nice DB recruits yesterday too. The talent level in this conference only going to get better!

RE: Temple Football Recruiting
Great job recruiting. Now what's going on with the new OCS. Seemed to have stalled since the new President took over. Are the new fields done for other Olympic sports at the other locations so work can start by the Liqourias Center for the new stadium. Have any working Architects Plans surfaced yet to even begin the new stadium or have the plans for the new stadium been scraped. I don't even see any students protesting on the nightly news out of Philly anymore. It's like the whole project has been swept under the rug. Personally I like the atmosphere at the LINC even foe Temple games, and the whole sports complex in South Philly but I see how the Eagles owner is really putting the screws to Temple on further contracts at $3 million dollars a year plus the exorbitant fee he wants up front on the new rental contract. 07-coffee3 04-cheers

I doubt we build a stadium until we regularly have 15-20K season ticket holders. There has to be a base of support.

Congrats, Looks like some solid recruits. I agree, this is very good for the league. As long as we are getting p5 recruits, we can continue the p6 dialogue.

How many season ticket holders do you have now. How long do you think it will take to get to 15-20k season pass holders to get the stadium back on track again. Sounds like Temple is going to be in the LINC longer than most think. Nice venue with easy access from 95 and a great place to tailgate though. Then there is always the Verizon Center to eat at after the game too. 07-coffee3 04-cheers

Honestly, I think it will take an 8-10 year run of very good seasons (like the last two) with key P5 (I mean P6) victories along the way. It would need to be a nice run like ECU had from the mid to late '80's on. My understanding is that is the period when ECU started to really build their fan base.

Love the recruiting video on Trad Beatty. Size, speed, elusiveness, arm strength, and good/quick decision making. Question, are his grades good enough? Seems to me a kid with this kind of make-up should be flooded with even more P6 offers.

If this is accurate, then the on campus stadium unfortunately has many more obstacles than I thought. I hate it for you guys if you really want it. Is the momentum for it really that slow now?

I will note on a selfish point that the current LFF stadium location is much more convenient for a visitor than a campus site would be. Taking an end spoke of the subway that delivers you right there without parking hassle and traffic concerns of something in the middle of other buildings is quite nice.

Apparently, some of our insiders feel that something is going to be announced relatively soon.

You've been talking about a new Temple Stadium for almost a decade

...stop wasting reader's time. You couldn't be any further from inside information. It isn't happening.

RE: Temple Football Recruiting
getting 18K season ticket holders in an nfl stadium with no promise of an on campus just isn't feasible without dramatically slashing prices or giving away tons of freebies. There is zero demand or urgency for tickets. Everyone knows they can show up day of game and get basically whatever seat they want for most games.

UCF had similar problems at the citrus bowl. Just by moving on campus we increased attendance dramatically, primarily with the sale of season tickets. If Temple is waiting to get 18K season ticket holders its never going to happen.
