dayum, hadn't thought of that. everyone of them will be ripped out now

Since aluminum wiring has been outlawed for close to 40 years then i would say yes there is copper.

Aluminum wiring isn't outlawed, it's still used today. 01-wingedeagle

I bet the people that hang out at Southern and Boston had nothing to do with it. They were too busy trying to end poverty and world hunger while they sip from brown paper bags day and night.

It's not the wiring but the connections that cause the problems. Coefficient of thermal expansion.

If you find a house or any building built with aluminum wiring then i can guarantee it was not inspected.

During the 50s-mid70s aluminum was used due to cost. But it was time bomb. Due it being a soft metal it would loosen due to the wiring expanding and contracting over time. Unlike copper wiring it tended to creep. Then it would overheat and cause. Hasn't been a house built in Shelby County since the mid 70s that used aluminum for wiring. fires

About the only place you'll find aluminum is in Bulk Distribution or large feeder circuits. YOu will not find it in residential or commercial usage.

I'm sure they didn't either, despite your insinuations.

Aluminum didn't start until the 70's. Before that it was tin-coated copper. It IS still in houses, only with the feeders though, as you stated, but it is in residential construction. I've seen just as much damage with copper, if not more and that IS because of the connections.

Not at all. All the classy people that sit in a liquor store parking lot drinking day and night are valued contributors to today's society. We are lucky they chose that activity instead maybe getting a job and paying taxes, besides taxes on liquor purchases.

Not quite. When you see spray paint on the grass and chicken bones in the parking lot then you know it's time

Memphis is no different than any other community. Just look at Middle East, the balkans and Europe. It just seems that way because we live here. We need more love for sure.

You said " Outlawed " that's what I was responding to. My house has aluminum wiring (1971) so I know about the wiring issues. How can you guarantee that the wiring in my house wasn't inspected back then? 04-cheers

No most places don't have the racial tension that Memphis does. This isnt normal. You basically just said Memphis is just like the Middle East. That is a problem
