RE: Jamelle Elliot - should she go
Nothing against Coach Elliot, but she's the Marvin Lewis of women's college basketball. Is there something in Cincy's water which causes pro and college administrators to grants non-performers not only second chances, but many multiples of them over the years?

Her record is horrible, that said do we really care. I have never went to or watched a UCWBB Game except once (UC v XU).

So if it keeps the Libtards happy keep her but no raise.

I thought we were supposed to keep political views out of this.

This issue is it is WBB --- there is no money to be made at UC for this program. Paying her buyout and a salary for a new coach would put a sport that operates at a huge loss even further in the red.

What a despicable racist post, Go watch Hockey, Golf, or the Winter Olympics!

Just replying in case he edits it.

This is an all-timer.

How does that not get deleted and a ban handed out?

No clue. The guy is constantly tossing out backhanded and not-so-subtle political comments, has been for quite awhile, which only drags the rest of the board into it. And this isn't his first attempt at racial commentary either, as I believe he had some not so great comments in a Michael Warren thread when Warren committed to us out of highschool.

Everyone knows the guys shtick, yet here he is.

I think you all might be overreacting a little bit.
He probably didn't see it as a racial commentary, so much as a jab at the over-represented activist/progressive segment of life. She really doesn't have much to lean on and it does beg the question why she's still here. Still, it was unnecessary to bring the political aspect in and mean spirited to bring it down to that level. It just seems like a waste of energy on his end. That said, it does look like she's doing okay this season.

EDIT: You know, there is a lot of vitriol behind those words though. Far more than I would ever dedicate to some women's college basketball coach.

Stop defending the indefensible! Former UC Women's basketball Coach Laurie Pirtle had 8 losing seasons in her first 10 seasons, however she then had 7 straight winning seasons that included 3 NCAA Tournament appearances and 4 NIT appearances. Jamelle Elliot has had a similar start however she is now winning and hopefully it continues. UC is giving Jamelle Elliot the same opportunity they did to Pirtle.

What's wrong with Hockey, Golf, and the Winter Olympics...that's probably what I watch the most of outside of soccer.

Actually there is nothing wrong with watching those sports, just trying to make a point with Doss 2. I love watching soccer whether it's Club or International. My 2 favorite teams are the US National Teams and Real Madrid.

By that logic, we should have given CTT another four years to screw up Bearcat football with the hope that he'd finally prove he's capable of winning.

Eh.. If by indefensible you mean objectionable, sorry I don't blindly beat down the non-believers and those guilty of heresy.
I'm not a fanatical cultist. She may well be on the right path, I acknowledged as much but she's not beyond criticism. Nor for that matter is anyone else.

That seems prejudiced and unreasonable.
People are not monsters, comments like the one everyone's upset at aren't sacrilege. Mean spirited, lacking in class and completely unnecessary? Sure. But "indefensible"? Please... There are far too many lawyers on this board to take that stance.

Adjust your outrage meters. This level of butt hurt should be saved for real issues. I could say the same to Doss. It's women's athletics.

Not at all. But if I never (or even rarely) saw either of them, I might slip up with the names.
