150 - Cincinnati (tied with Eastern Washington, Marist, SC State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, and Xavier)

FWIW, we finished 83rd this year. That's quite an improvement over where we were just a few years ago. We've actually finished second in the AAC (Tulsa was tops at 68).

And Tulsa has national championship caliber athletics in some gazebo-related sports that we don't participate in. Us not having a Softball team is really a big misstep, but we definitely do not have the space or facilities to add it.

Her contract is too cost prohibitive to not just let her coach it out. Relative to that sport anyway.

I think that it's about time that UC starts a women's fast pitch softball team. Cincinnati has loads of talent in the city and it's not a terribly expensive sport.

It is expensive. The reason we have lacrosse and not softball is purely about money. With lacrosse you have the same number of scholarships, but about a third the number of games. So you cut a ton of expenses in travel, staff for running events, etc. by going that route.

With tonight's win over SMU, UC WBB has now won four straight and is tied for second at 5-2 in the conference.

Until we get in a P5 conference all the eggs go in the football and Men's basketball baskets.

I don't think that means we should accept worse than mediocrity from our women's basketball program. That said, if they are doing this well now, there's no reason to fire her given what we've put up with in the past. Maybe she's finally on to something.

It is a sad commentary that her only saving grace is being black.

Her record is horrible, that said do we really care. I have never went to or watched a UCWBB Game except once (UC v XU).

So if it keeps the Libtards happy keep her but no raise.

How does that not get deleted and a ban handed out?

No clue. The guy is constantly tossing out backhanded and not-so-subtle political comments, has been for quite awhile, which only drags the rest of the board into it. And this isn't his first attempt at racial commentary either, as I believe he had some not so great comments in a Michael Warren thread when Warren committed to us out of highschool.

Everyone knows the guys shtick, yet here he is.

I think you all might be overreacting a little bit.
He probably didn't see it as a racial commentary, so much as a jab at the over-represented activist/progressive segment of life. She really doesn't have much to lean on and it does beg the question why she's still here. Still, it was unnecessary to bring the political aspect in and mean spirited to bring it down to that level. It just seems like a waste of energy on his end. That said, it does look like she's doing okay this season.

EDIT: You know, there is a lot of vitriol behind those words though. Far more than I would ever dedicate to some women's college basketball coach.

If she goes, there will be trouble...

(Apologies to "The Clash")

At this point the University may be worried about the optics of a very white coaching staff elsewhere

You're dragging me into this... Why?

And, ironically, last time I checked, UC Women's Basketball was having a pretty good year, currently 3rd place in the Conference with a record of 13-7 and riding a 4 game win streak.

What I posted was BEFORE the season even started. Right now, I think Elliot is doing enough to keep her job... ON THE MERITS.
