MAC QB Rankings??
I don't see how NIU can be ranked 4th but here is the reasoning from College Football News......

http://collegefootballnews.com/2017/prev...situations

Going into the summer, what’s the quarterback situation and ranking for every MAC team?

This video is currently unavailable. Please try back again later.
– CFN College Football Preview 2017

Not everyone quarterback situation is settled, but where does each MAC team stand at the most important position? The ranking is based on the entire quarterback situation.

MAC

12. Kent State

Will Nick Holley play quarterback or wide receiver? Junior George Bollas is a 6-3 veteran backup who struggled in his eight games of work last year, and RB Myles Washington might end up taking over the spot to bring more athleticism to the position.

And the starter will be … George Bollas, Jr.
– Kent State 2017 Preview

11. Buffalo

The mobile, 6-7 Tyree Jackson is an interesting quarterback with the upside to do a little of everything for a UB attack that needs playmakers. The 6-5 Drew Anderson saw a little time as the main backup. Both Bulls QBs have huge arms.

And the starter will be … Tyree Jackson, Soph.
– Buffalo 2017 Preview

10. Ball State

Riley Neal knows how to handle the up-tempo offense, and while he’s accurate, he has to push the ball more down the field. Jack Milas is a solid veteran who could take over without a problem if needed.

And the starter will be … Riley Neal, Jr.
– Ball State 2017 Preview

9. Akron

Thomas Woodson had some good moments throwing for close to 2,100 yards with 18 scores and six picks, but he missed several games hurt. Backup Tra’Von Chapman is moving to receiver, opening the door for a battle for the No. 2 gig.

And the starter will be … Thomas Woodson, Sr.
– Akron 2017 Preview

8. Bowling Green

It was a rough transition from the passing game juggernaut of 2015, but James Morgan got his feet wet in his first year, throwing for almost 2,100 yards and 16 scores. The three top backup options are all freshmen.

And the starter will be … James Morgan, Soph.
– Bowling Green 2017 Preview

7. Eastern Michigan

Brogan Roback led the way to EMU’s breakthrough season throwing for close to 2,700 yards and 18 scores. Senior Todd Porter is a decent veteran who saw action in five games last year, throwing for 1,064 yards and seven scores.

And the starter will be … Brogan Roback, Sr.
– Eastern Michigan 2017 Preview

6. Central Michigan

Gone is Cooper Rush, who didn’t quite come up with the big season expected, but was still a longtime starter who put up big numbers. In comes for Michigan super-recruit Shane Morris, who’s looking to play in his final year. Tommy Lazzaro is a JUCO transfer looking for the starting gig.

And the starter will be … Shane Morris, Sr.
– CMU 2017 Preview

5. Ohio

The Bobcat passing game has to be better. Quinton Maxwell is a 6-3, 223-pound talent with a world of upside to grow further into the job after rotating with Greg Windham. Windham is gone, and now Nathan Rourke comes in from the JUCO ranks to push for time.

And the starter will be … Quinton Maxwell, Soph.
– Ohio 2017 Preview

4. Northern Illinois

A disaster over the last few years thanks to a slew of injuries, now there’s hope for a turnaround if Ryan Graham can stay in one piece after getting knocked out with a leg injury. Daniel Santacaterina has seen time over the last few years, and Marcus Childers is a good-looking redshirt freshman who can run.

And the starter will be … Ryan Graham, Jr.
– Northern Illinois 2017 Preview

3. Western Michigan

How do you replace a smart, veteran leader like Zach Terrell, who threw for 3,533 yards and 33 touchdowns and just four interceptions? Tom Flacco – Joe Flacco’s brother – is set to step in after getting a little bit of time here and there over the last few season. He’ll add some mobility to the position, while Jon Wassink has all the tools to potentially be the main man.

And the starter will be … Tom Flacco, Jr.
– Western Michigan 2017 Preview

2. Miami University

Gus Ragland turned into one of the MAC’s top superstars over the second half of last season, and now he comes into the season as one of the bright, shining hopes for the resurgence of the RedHawk program. Billy Bahl did an okay job over the first part of the year, but he didn’t lead the way to wins.

And the starter will be … Gus Ragland, Jr.
– Miami Univ. 2017 Preview

1. Toledo

Logan Woodside is coming off a massive season, hitting 69% of his passes for 4,129 yards and 45 scores. Expect more of the same, while 6-5, 232-pound Michael Julian only threw five passes last season. He’s a senior – Toledo needs to develop a few young options.

And the starter will be … Logan Woodside, Sr.
– Toledo 2017 Preview

RE: MAC QB Rankings??
Riley Neal - 10th - LOL

tells you all you need to know about this list

5th in passing yards as sophomore - Im a huskie fan, but saying that young man is the 10th best QB in the conference is a joke

It's CFN, they have no credibility whatsoever when it comes to anything MAC-related.

I'd feel more comfortable with EMU, BG and buffalo quarterback situation.

Agree; for example....Santacaterina has seen time over the last few years? He has 6 quarters of collegiate QB experience all coming in the last two games of 2016.

RE: MAC QB Rankings??
Those ratings are trash, but honestly how many more sets of QBs are you confident is better than NIU's? Probably Neal at Ball State and maybe an argument for Roback?

All that tells me is with any kind of decent QB play NIU can once again compete for a MAC Championship.

One word - experience. NIU has two QBs with starting experience, and that puts the Huskies in a safer position than most other MAC teams. WMU is ranked higher based on bloodlines. Does Tom Brady have any sons? Give Brady Jr. a scholly, and CFN can rank NIU #1 sight unseen.

According to Captain Obvious, the MAC is not the SEC. Your QB does not have to be a 1st round pick to be the best in the conference.

No offense to Logan Woodside, but if he is the best QB in the conference, which it appears he may be, that says much more about the MAC this year like someone mentioned. I don't get the Riley Neal thing either, NIU and Ball State should be switched in these rankings. NIU has one of the worst QB situations in the conference right now.

Take a look at woodsides number last year. He was awesome. And I don't think our qb situation is that dire. No studs, but two of which are competent. Problem is we're used to the best in the conference which just isn't always going to be the case.

If we can have a redshirt freshman beat out graham I think I future looks real good.

So Graham is the Mario Mendoza of NIU football?

MAC QB Rankings??
I had to look up who that is....

But for this year, kinda.

If a frosh can overcome Graham I call that a victory.

Meaning if Graham was about to be a redshirt frosh with his current skill set we would likely look at Graham to be the next Chandler.

I'm confused? Is this a dig on Logan? He was the best or top3 in the entire G5?? He led the nation in passing TD's??? He just won the manning QB camp MVP. He' going to get drafted...

RE: MAC QB Rankings??
Something tells me Lynch is helping the QB in the run game. Whichever shows they can run and make a good read is the starter....hopefully. I know the video is old, small sample size, but Childers isn't the fastest guy, but he can take the hit and will make some contact. Seemed to have touch, knew when to decide quick throw the ball (or run)and not run around to keep a play alive. Runs N/S not E/W.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCD7BX_Nndg

Santa is likely faster, but you aren't going to make guys miss on this level. 26 rushes with a long of 21. Small sample but not overwhelming and to me enough to confirm. Maybe Childers bulked got some muscle and got a little speed...I hope.

And Graham.... well......
