Putting the American in the CBS/Turner camp would help with keeping Navy fully engaged.
If you take a typical late-season conference weekend you could have the following:
CBS
Noon - Army or Navy (could be moved to 3:30)
3:30 - Pac 12 (could also be moved to 7:30)
"Turner Sports"
Noon - Army or Navy
3:30, 7:00, 10:30 - Pac 12
CBS Sports Network
11:30, 3:00, 6:30, 10:00 - American (2), Mountain West (2)
RSNs (AT&T, Pac 12 Network, whatever)
12:00 - American
3:30, 7:00, 10:30 - Pac 12 (2), Mountain West (1)
If the Pac 12 expands to 16, you get one more game at the RSN level, and then CBS likely picks up another game if those four additions are in the Central Time Zone.
The SEC and ACC would likely have 14 games between them in a typical weekend, which would mean 2 for ABC, 2 for ESPN, 2 for ESPN 2, 2 for ESPNU, and 3 each for the ACC and SEC networks. For early season and week 12, overflow channels come into play, and possibly ESPNEWS as well. ESPNEWS gets the MAC and Sun Belt.
The Big 12, if it still exists in something like its present form, would get a game on Fox, 1 each on ESPN/2/U, and then 1 at the RSN level.
