Pretty significant fire in London
A massive fire has erupted in a London high-rise apartment building. I haven't seen any indications that it's terror related but the flames are enormous, and it sure seems worse than a fire from someone's lit cigarette. London and the UK has had way too many horrific occurrences lately - this fire looks bad whatever the cause, but I hope it wasn't deliberately set by someone acting on behalf of ISIS.

No fatalities reported yet but it did happen overnight so it's too early to say for sure.

It is bad, real bad. Pray for those poor souls in that building.

Any fire above the reach of a ladder truck in a high rise is significant. Prayers for the brothers and sisters in London.

Apparently the tenants warned the landlords of such a hazard.

Quote:It is our conviction that a serious fire in a tower block or similar high density residential property is the most likely reason that those who wield power at the KCTMO will be found out and brought to justice!

Quote:Wood is a go-to material for floors, doors, furniture, and now, a skyscraper—the very first of its kind in the U.S. Construction on Portland, Oregon’s wood high-rise, Framework, is slated to begin this October. The 12-story mixed-use building—a collaboration between local firm Lever Architecture and real-estate developer Project^—will be made primarily from timber. Thomas Robinson, Lever Architecture’s founder, says his company is interested in “exploring the relationship between materials, experience, and the environment—how the way we build impacts the way we live and the environment as a whole.”

The photos would seem to indicate that this was a recent build. That would lead me to conclude that someone cut some construction corners and codes weren't followed.

Will be higher. Nobody is expected to survive from the top 3 floors. Dozens still missing.

Actually I think I read it was older. They had just redone the facade.
