Only 2 reasons the media would be disappointed. Either they don't exist or they prove Trumps side. There's no soup for the Dems either way.

An interesting opinion. If they prove Trump's side---the best strategic move is to play coy and keep your powder dry. Let as many Dems as possible climb on the Russia band wagon before pushing it over a cliff with the release of the tapes. That move will permanently destroy the credibility of the maximum number of Democrat leaders. Its basically a kill a shot to many of their political leaders---and best of all---it completely undermines the credibility of the press (as if that's hard to do these days). So, climb aboard the Trump Russia Impeachment Train. Plenty of room on board and she's picking up steam. Just know, the career you end might be your own.

Its really pretty smart. Even if he doesn't have the tapes---my guess is some of the lack of punch in the Comey testimony is precisely because he feared the existence of tapes. If he went too far, he would be guilty of perjury if there were tapes of the meeting. It wouldn't be a simple he said/she said thing.

So lying out of a President is now smart to the Trumpistas. How low you have set the bar.

Asking someone to back off an investigation and then firing that person for not backing off is obstruction of justice. Trumps own teeets will do him in. You know, I said to myself this whole Russianthings is a ruse so I fired him. He tweeted something along those lines.

COMEY: Not in my experience. Because it would be a big deal to tell the FBI to stop doing something like that -- without an appropriate purpose.

I mean where oftentimes they give us opinions that we don't see a case there and so you ought to stop investing resources in it. But I'm talking about a situation where we were told to stop something for a political reason, that would be a very big deal.

It's not happened in my experience.
