Future Football Schedules
UH just announced that it has added Washington State and North Texas to future schedules. As of now, the local Cougars have only 1 opening each for 2022 and 2023. I am hopeful that Rice is working to claim those final 2 spots.

Once again we will play at UH but when it comes time for them to play at a HRS they will find a way out.

And what's up with that black pitcher's mound? (saw on the regionals coverage). Hideous.

Several things that I could reply to that:
(1) Wow, they will be D3 also? Tillman must be pretty upset
(2) More correct would be the SEC (as they've always claimed that is where they belong)
(3) You mean the sad sorry remainder of the big 12 once the 4 16 team conferences finally happens and tu can lay claim as being as the only college to destroy two conferences.

Or Rice will sell the game to NRG, essentially making it another UH home game.

Not even a sad sorry reminder of the B12 would want us. In that scenario, whatever's left of that conference pulls from BYU, Colorado State, UH, Memphis, Cincinnati, and whoever else they want from the AAC and MWC. Not Rice. We wish. We can't even get it together enough to host a meaningful opponent inside our own stadium. I just threw up.

The game times for this season were just released. FIU and Army are evening kickoffs. Nice.

5:30 on October 7 can be hot or cool. Last few years: 90, 87, 92, 81, 66.

True. At least we aren't kicking off in the middle of the afternoon. I don't like the daytime kickoffs at all until November. It's a shame we have to schedule our game times around a bad TV deal that pays nothing. It isn't worth it. I feel like we should have a conference network that streams all these games live. Let the fans prescribe for an annual fee, or just pay the PPV rate if we only want to watch a few specific games. It might bring in more money than what we currently get as a conference, and ticket sales would increase, IMO.

Correct; if we have an afternoon game in Sept/early Oct, no one sitting on the east side will come see another Rice football game - EVER.

It's hell. My heart goes out to The MOB, the students, and all of the opposing team's fans. The horror.

I haven't been back to HRS since the 2012 UCLA game.

Just like the Aggies took the 2 at Kyle Field but canceled the one in Houston.
