SBC Rival Potential
Offseason topic: Given what we know about divisions and having permanent teams in the conference, use any criteria to rank each SBC team as potential to be a rival with your program.

For App:
1. Georgia Southern
2. Troy
3. StAte
4. Coastal
5. Georgia State
6. South Alabama
7. ULL
8. Texas State
9. ULM

RE: SBC Rival Potential
This would be intriguing if we had a better Athletic Program ... .

Football, we're not really good enough to be anyone's rival. We're kind of the "Keystone Kops" of The Belt, running around with good intentions, but unable to get out of our own way.

Basketball has gotten better, but we're not where we want to be, yet . . . Baseball, we've got to figure out how to develop talent, and stop fading or collapsing down the stretch. If I were going to pick a "rival" in Basketball and/or baseball, I guess I'd have to give the nod to UTA, but only because we manage to beat them at the most inconvenient time, typically ruining their "outstanding" season . . . You're welcome Mav .. .

I was stationed in Arkansas when App and the Sunbelt made the announcement of the FBS move. I decided then I wanted you to be a rival no matter how good or bad either team was just to have another reason to travel back down there. Growing up in ACC country, I never knew how insane SEC fans were. I loathe the pigs. 04-cheers

Couple of thoughts...
-my gut feeling says we will do 1 permanent cross division rival and if it is Arkansas state vs app state like I think it will no doubt it can turn into a solid rivalry

-geography alone puts ULM 4th same for Texas state but I wouldn't be shocked to see them switch

-Troy should be higher but the fact they'll be rotational years with them has me putting them where they are

-the strong ties a state fans have with the mobile area has me thinking if divisional games between jags and red wolves should ever get competitive it could get heated and fun fast

-as for the bottom 3, I have high hopes for a rivalry with southern but again the reality of skipping each other certain years bogs potential down. Panthers are where they are solely because we've played them 4 times compared to the zero times we've faced the Chants
