@RocketNation_ Twitter Account
Anyone know what happened to it? The Twitter account was created & operated by a fan who did a great job with it, had a great following...and now it's gone.

RE: @RocketNation_ Twitter Account
This Twitter address was connected to the Toledo Rivals (div. of yahoo) site I started 3 years ago called TheRocketNation.com or it could also be accessed via Toledo.Rivals.com. We could not generate the interest in the site and/or publish enough quality material for our few subscribers to keep the interest going. Working a full time engineering managers job doesn't leave much time nor did it for my partner Brian Nowicki. We sold the site back to Yahoo and it changed publishers and it has basically folded (no new content in almost a year)

Brian and I also worked on the Scout site which was moved into Zach Harig's possession for which he has done a tremendous job but that is also problematic since he will graduate soon and have new demands placed on his time once he gains full time employment. UT needs a fan base more willing to pay for these services which in turn generate considerable interest in UT's sports especially among the young football recruits. The Toledo Scout site is highly influential in gaining commitments as was the Rivals site at one time. We just need more paying customers but it's a "chicken or the egg" scenario since good reporting needs to occur to gain subscribers. Someone will need to step-up soon to replace Zach when he does eventually move on.

GO ROCKETS!!!!

Sincerely,
Ned Wright (season ticket holder in bball & fball since '66)

RE: @RocketNation_ Twitter Account
The perks of owning and working on these sites is the following:

1. press pass access to all games
2. press pass access to post game media sessions and media events at UT
3. personal contact with coaching staffs
4. Inside info on "things" relevant to recruiting
5. Contact with recruits (interviews)
6. Income $ from site

Hopefully more UT fans will step-up and want to write for and own these fine sites. It's a great way to get writing credentials if one wants to pursue a writing career.

Ned
