When we went to their place and could not beat the half of a team they put on the field that day, why would anyone think we will be them at home?
NIU has to EARN respect.

We don't have a legit QB and Carey is still our coach. Hopefully we have one heck of a run game and OL, as well as a strong D.

BC comes in with very similar concerns as NIU. No number 1 QB. They may start a junior who has only thrown 69 passes or a freshman. The BC offense has major concerns at offensive production(20 ppg in 2016...Almost last in FBS 119/128 with an established QB). The defense is good, but not 2015 good. They gave up 25/game. Though 150 of those were to 3 top 20 teams which blistered them in points 24-153. Their coach, Addazio, is on the hot seat just like Carey. And while they did go 6-6, those wins came from a collective group who went 19-41. No win over a team who finished the regular season better than 6-6.

They have a good O-line and run game. We should too. BC has the better D and a monster of a rush end in Harold Landry. It has the makings of an ugly game that plays a little bit more to BC's strengths. Might be decided by turn overs. This wil be a really good measuring stick for our d-line and LBs. If those units can hold the the BC run game, we can win. If not, BC will dominate time of possession and grind out a win. If NIU has to throw too much in the second half, Landry may go through all 3 of our questionable quarterbacks.

Don't worry, by the time we play, there will be plenty of posters on here expressing even more confidence in NIU and making disparaging comments about BC. Not giving the opposition due respect is universal.

How much disrespect can you give to a team who is universally predicted to finish last in their conference?? The urge to condemn any NIU homer-ism should not cloud your vision of a team who just isn't that good(on paper). Saying BC is just so-so is not saying NIU is really good. It's just two teams who probably rank somewhere between 75-90. Every team ranked their can be disparaged.

They should load up then. NIU (-2) is the favorite.

It will be a repeat of 2015.
