If you're actually giving enough money to the Foundation then your tickets are free so you're not losing any money. You only need to donate $1000 to get free football and basketball tickets. That's not a lot.
Arguing with someone that buys the fan package or even season tickets about game times is a waste of time. Clearly you're not really donating very much if your tickets aren't free.
None of hear times are outrageous. If you're upset because you can't tailgate then you don't get it.
As far as winning and butts in the seat: welcome to an exclusive group of schools called the G5. Win and they come. Lose and they don't. How do you win? Recruit. How do you recruit a wide net? Get on TV. Convincing a kid from Florida to come to Toledo to play on Saturdays with no TV exposure just so old man river doesn't have to miss Meatloaf Wednesay is ridiculous.
Wow.
Oh my God! I've been missing Meatloaf Wednesday all these years? Holy Sh!t! Never knew there was such a thing. Well, screw it- no more Wednesday games for me- I'll be eating meatloaf and watching my phone with Old Man River and a bunch of fast high school kids from Florida!

Great. Now I want meatloaf for dinner.
Farmer's Table in Boca has a great Bison & Cranberry Meatloaf with a Mushroom Port Wine Sauce. Keep it in mind for the next Boca Raton Bowl trip.

With mashed and corn (because we all mix the corn in with the mashed, right?). Or as a concession item: meatloaf/mashed/corn... on a stick.

As fun as this is, thankfully the powers that be don't listen to you guys. It would make zero business sense to cater to the lowest common denominator of your revenue. If you don't understand that, I have no time for you. Enjoy your meatloaf Midnight Blue Hairs! :)

Let it be known that Bob Evans is not just for the blue-hairs, it is a universal all-American establishment!

How is the highest common denominator, the guy sitting at home on his azz watching Wed night ESPN? Throwing out stuff with NO support at all is not business. It's not logic.
and hopefully neither are football games ending in empty stadiums past midnight so they can be streamed to people that are going to watch them next weekend anyhow.

No offense but I pay over $1000 and have free tickets. Never use them but I don't donate to get them. I donate to give back. My wife and kids come first. That includes Saturday's for their sports.

I'm not following. What offense would anyone find in that? Kind of missing whatever point is being attempted, being honest.
I would think most would say "use them." If you can't or don't desire to go, give them to somebody, whatever to get that butt in the seat. Can you imagine any reason they were "given" to you? Someone maybe felt that those whose desire is to "give back" would also desire to be (and are) part of the UT Community, so they're welcoming donators to come be that, celebrate UT with others at an event.
I am curious, is it an academic or an athletic donation? If athletic, then the tickets naturally follows. If academic, I think it's a neat idea and would wonder if options to other UT Community events would be a nice reward for donations of certain magnitude? Someone might rather a concert or a speaker. Interesting.
