Fun. Semi-funny. End of the day the athletic department is doing he right thing. Joke all your want. Nobody cares. Get with the times. Or don't. It's irrelevant. Trying to get you to see that they are doing the right thing but at the end of the day your opinion means nothing. At all. Joke. Cry. It doesn't matter. Literally.

End of the day the athletic department is doing the short-sighted thing. Be as rude as you want, nobody can help you. Be stuck in the times or be prepared for the next. Or don't. It's irrelevant. Trying to get you to see that they are doing the wrong thing but at the end of the day your opinion means nothing. At all. Joke. Cry that others disagree with you. It doesn't matter. Literally nor figuratively.

RE: 2017 Football Times
i agree with week night games, I wish we didnt have to play them but...

Before UT played late season games on week nights (ESPN) we drew terrible on Saturdays in the 80's and 90's. UT fans did not come out and tailgate at 5pm for 7pm game.

I remember the Glass Bowl being virtually empty in November games. I guess we were competing against the cold and other big games.

I honestly feel we draw better during the week when not competing against big TV games. Can others recollect the same small crowds of 2 or 3 thousand?

From MY experience, that's a different issue and has been debated many times on the "atmosphere" and GB remodel threads. There's the "just win" crowd and there's the "Make it an event" crowd. Winning isn't something a fan can control so I'm more in the latter group. UT just doesn't have a history of traditions, of utilizing the entertainment potential of the environment or ways for a fan to participate, once they are in the stadium.

In short, UT stadium and game management doesn't know how to throw a party, be it on Saturday or be it Wed. May just as well watch it on tv. Same experience without the drive and parking.

Our athletic department could learn a lot from the Mud Hens and the Walleye. Every game is an event.

AMEN. Build designated group spaces. Quality buffet....beverages...with a level of exclusivity to it. Why these have not been put on top of each tower is beyond me

If you want to see football played in the Glass Bowl on Saturdays, you will have to check put the Toledo Thunder semi pro team. They are playing tonight 6:30. I think all their home games are on campus this year.

+1

The Hens & Walleye are perfect examples of how to attract the "make it an event" crowd. These two professional organizations are just down the road from UT...would be neat to see more of a big-time effort to collaborate with each other for the good of the entire city of Toledo.

A little easier when you're talking about a fraction of the crowd. But I agree they do a nice job. They aren't reinventing the wheel tho as all minor league sports do that kind of stuff geared towards families. Different ball game 20k people vs 6k. But I agree the game day festivities at GB need improvement. However. Toledo is and always will be a school that the crowd will depend on weather winning and opponent.
