No, it's not. The conference schedule number will stay the same.

It may but don't get to twisted if they drop 3 games next season
They already dropped 3, we didn't play GS. Even then teams are filling in with a series versus an OOC opponent. In the SLC, we had 12 teams and played 11 series.
30 conference games still gives you room for +/- 25 OOC games. TXST averages about 56 games a season. How may games do you want them to play OOC?

Point of order, We never actually dropped 3 games, we just never scheduled them. I think everyone knew going in it would be a 30 game schedule when Coastal came on board.

We've played a 30 game conference schedule since i can remember even if it meant playing your geographic neighbor twice in the same season.

Thirty is what most conferences play (except those who don't have enough teams.)

That isn't changing...maybe ever.

That St. Peter's series did you guys in.

When Troy swept ULM this season, who has a 256 RPI, Troy's RPI still fell from 98 to 111.

If you take out that St. Peter's series, ULL's RPI is probably in the mid-40's.

Just a followup after our RPI guy ran the numbers;

Without the Saint Peter's series on the schedule ...

W-L-T -> 32-21-1
RPI -> .5584 (#35) up from #55
SOS -> .5431 (#44) up from #85
NC RPI Ranking -> #17 (up from #42)
NC SOS Ranking -> #3 (up from #48)

Record vs. RPI Top 25 -> 3-3
Record vs. RPI 26->50 -> 6-4
--
Record vs. RPI Top 50 -> 9-7
Record vs. RPI Top 100 -> 14-16-1 (UTA finished right at #100)

And if anyone thinks the selection committee considered Louisiana's various RPI metrics without the Saint Peter's impact, well ...

I agree with Chief. If they didn't win the tournament, they wouldn't be in the field. That's because of all the stolen bids.

The biggest snub, to me, was Old Dominion.

Don't know where you stand, but if someone is in favor of bids going to conference tourney champs, and then not relegating that tourney to your top 4 schools, then there is no way that person can refer to those bids as stolen.

Division Champions, best of 3 (super regional) - or - a top-4 tourney (regional)

Going past that invites "stolen" bids and RPI catastrophes.
