Please provide some information on Keys . . . . . . .
Speed of his fastball, what types of pitches he throws, etc. Thanks.

his breaker is pretty wicked and his fastball has a little movement.....his problem of late is finding the plate with those......this means you have to toss meat to the plate when behind in the count....

he'll get the hook quickly if he doesn't start out with decent 'stuff'.....

This is pretty accurate. He has good stuff, locating his pitches is the issue lately. I can assure you that SELA has the book on him and knows to see some pitches. If he is on he's great. Really need him to fill the zone and give us a good outing.

If we could combine his dirt pitches along with Hayden's waist high pitches we would have one heck of a pitcher with a nasty breaking pitch combined with a knee high 92-93 mph fastball

I really think that the key (no pun intended) to post season success will be if Keys and Roberts are successful. We've had great outings from our starting pitchers lately. Eventually you will run in to a team with hot bats or our starter has an off day. We will need Keys/Roberts/Powers to eat up innings in long relief if/when this occurs.

If Keys finds the plate, he'll be fine. With Roberts, we know what we're going to get. A guy who can strike out a lot of people, but also tends to give up hits as well. Powers has actually been really good his last few outings. Nice to know we can go to him or Driver or even Roberts in relief if we need to. Though I feel Roberts won't see much relief duty. Probably be used as our #4. I don't know. I might pitch Roberts in the 1/8 matchup depending on who it is.

Keys getting the nod tonight leads me to believe that the coaches feel he is our fourth best option. Tonight's game is just as important, if not more, than the games this weekend.

If he is on

If we could combine pitches

If he's successful.

we need keys to exorcise that little devil in his head....

if he can get that breaker working, he's almost un-hittable

hey bdr, another "if" for your bones....

I would like to think Berry would stick to his rotation to give you the best chance of winning each day. At this point you'd like to think that unless we go winless or just 1 win this week that hosting is still in the picture AND that increases with a couple wins in Biloxi. Go with Colt Smith on Wednesday and Kirk on Thursday to hopefully avoid Friday. Then go with Braley on Saturday at which point assuming we're still playing that would have the hosting spot wrapped up

RE: Please provide some information on Keys . . . . . . .
He had two really good outings against teams that rank 207 and 244 in hitting.

In his other 10 appearances (5 starts):
23 IP, 26 ER, 33 H, 15 BB, 8 wild pitches

It doesn't seem like this has just been a slump. I don't think there's been anything wrong with him other than the fact that he's a guy relying on a really good breaking pitch to overcome control problems facing D1 competition.

He will throw well against undisciplined lineups that can't hit and chase curveballs. Otherwise, he struggles to control his fastball and teams can either walk or wait to tee off on it when he puts it over the plate.

Not saying he can't pitch well against good D1 lineups. He hasn't, though.

Good news for tonight: SELA ranks 237th in hitting.

They've got a couple good power hitters but the batting averages minus a few players are pretty bad as eaglejxn posted. They've hit 47 HRs while 3 players combined have hit 36 of them. Only 3 players hitting over .300 and only 6 hitting over .225
