I believe I saw the rim block at least 3 of our dunk attempts last season. I also saw something you rarely see and that was one of our Dukes had a dunk attempt air ball.

Fun times. 03-pissed

JMU has a 6'11" walk-on with a 7'6" wingspan? Where did this guy come from? Hopefully he can walk and chew gum at the same time! It's been awhile since we've had a player with those kind of dimensions.

I believe 2 of the 3 dunks were by Ivan Lukic on breakaways believe it or not.

The JMU MBB Roster page is down on JMU Sports. Based on the videos and pictures posted by Walfish and the coaches these appear to be the players and jersey numbers:

3 Stuckey Mosely- appears to wear a head band
10 Greg Jones
23 Ramone Snowden
11 Zach Jacobs
2 Antanee Pinkard
1 Matt Lewis
24 Dwight Wilson
5 Darius Banks
12 Develle Phillips
22 Gerron Scissum
4 Joey McLean

I can't make out Alex Schultz number but he looks to be not only tall but big as well. According to Walfish Cam Smith (the big grad transfer) is expected to start practicing on Wednesday.

It seems that the updated roster for the men was late in getting posted. Not sure who is responsible, but whoever it is they've got to do better. Many of the bios for new players are still not listed. Strikes me as a bit choatic in JMU MBB land. For a comparison, the updated WBB roster has been posted for sometime, and its complete.

It probably doesn't help that there are only 4 players on this year's roster from last year. Plus, the season is a ways away - I just checked out Virginia Tech's basketball roster and their new players do not have bio pages yet either Relax.

that, and we have some talent. i have only seen a few of the new guys, but this looks to be the most talented team we have had in a long time.

there is going to be lots of growing pains, but should be much more fun to watch then past teams

I wish Rowe would allow the DNR to have video interviews of his players like Houston does for football. It allows you to get to know the players a little better.

It helps when you have arguably the greatest JMU coach ever in HC Lou Rowe!

They're very young so I have no idea what to expect as far as wins and losses, but hopefully they'll be exciting to watch ... something that definitely couldn't be said for last year's team.

It will only be fun to watch if the team is winning. Coach Rowe has a lot to prove in trying to just get the program back to where it was before he took over.
We are in year 2 of the Bourne Experiment and too much time has been wasted already with the $88 million new Convo waiting for momentum.

Just wondering which teams in your opinion were not fun to watch. Besides Rowe's underachieving trainwreck in his first season, I have to go back to the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Keener years to think of a team that wasn't fun to watch.

I found no joy watching Brady's final squad implode in Baltimore vs. W&M. There's one. I felt like Rowe's tournament team in Charleston last year performed miles better than the year before in Baltimore.

this trip and these practices are so very valuable to such a young team.

The past is the past. Lets hope for a better present and future.

Or the year before in the CAAT or getting punched in the mouth by UNCW all the time but never mind that it's old news. It was fun to watch Ron Curry but the last time the JMU MBB team was fun to watch was when they beat Northeastern in the CAAT championship to go to the NCAAs. That team had multiple guys who could play above the rim, get their own shot, block and steal the ball on defense, create fast breaks, etc. Here's hoping with the guys Rowe has brought in that type of success is not far away.

Still to this day, being in the Coliseum for the CAAT Championship is a highlight for me. Such an insane atmosphere and was just so Pro-JMU

RE: MBB to open 2017 in Virgin Islands (pre-season)
I was a Brady supporter and was disappointed when he was let go.

That said, Rowe's philosophy is a brand of basketball I enjoy watching. Long athletic players applying pressure and running a half court press. create turnovers and score in transition. Get guys space and let them create. its the way basketball is moving. wide open basketball with 5 highly skilled interchangeable players that get points in transition or drain 3's. yes, that is much more fun to watch than what we saw from Brady's teams the last few years. I also think it is a brand of basketball where the mid - majors can compete with the majors.

I was suspect of Rowe when he was hired, but I love the team he has assembled. Can he coach? Not sure, but he seems to be getting the right players on board.

RE: MBB to open 2017 in Virgin Islands (pre-season)
The team is extremely young this year so expectations are going to be muted on the outside. That being said, seems like a lot of positive vibes from the recruits - hopefully this is the beginning of the core of a team that will get the Dukes back to the top of the league. It will take work, guys developing (and not leaving!!!! a big deal these days), and continuing to add promising players. If this is a middle of the CAA team with a main core of freshman you would think there is a ton of upside in 18. Would also help to get Earl Grant out of the league.
