NCAA Basketball Rules changes
Nothing major this year- won't be going to quarters or resetting the fouls. I am a bit surprised but I think we'll see it soon enough.
The big one though is shot clock on fouls or a defensive violation(kicked ball) will reset to 20 seconds instead of 30 seconds. Smart one(I personally think on missed shots, it should also reset to 20 seconds....
Saw the impact of going to the 30 second shot clock this year. # of poss. were up from 65.8 to 70.3. That's a pretty big differential- almost 10% increase.

Thats an interesting idea. Offensive rebounds should reset the clock to 20 seconds, maybe even less. Maybe as little as 10 seconds.

I can see the 20 seconds. The 30 seconds minus the 10 seconds allowed for backcourt time.
I do agree with you on offensive rebounds as well. I was at a WNBA game yesterday, and they do just that. Makes the game much faster.

The 10-second count for bringing the ball over half court (8 seconds in the NBA) should be eliminated. It's a holdover from before there was a shot clock, and given the shot clock there is no longer any need for that rule. If a team has only 24 or 30 seconds to shoot, who cares how much of that time they spend with the ball in the backcourt.

It speeds the game up though. And bottom line like a lot of stuff- it's never going away. They just added the 10 second backcourt to the women's college game a few years ago(for the 2013 season).
