UH now has road games against LSU and Saint Louis. Play at the Toyota Center against Arkansas. And play a neutral site game against Providence. Still have 4 more openings left to sort out, but this schedule is so much better than previous years. I think Sampson knows he has a very talented team going into next season.

We shouldnt play them in anything until they give us the home football game they owe us from the 90s.
This. Same with Tennessee. They still owe us a home football game from 2004.
UTK does owe us a game. UA should owe us a game since they cancelled the last game of the series after we won 3 in a row but technically they don't, they paid the contractual fee instead of playing. But that's FB.
In MBB, no, Memphis has been on a several year slide related to OOC, especially at home. It's weak. No other way to describe it. Hoping for better & I express this to the admin, every chance I get. Maybe the UA negotiations to play H&H is part of improving the home OOC. Should have added, I think Miss St, UTK & Vandy are being discussed. I can only hope.
some Memphis fans just aren't obsessed with playing SEC teams.
St,
I support only playing SEC teams that offer home-home football contracts.
Not obsessed, just think there will be more interest, better SOS, better attendance, better revenue than playing SEMO, AR-Little Rock, UT-Martin, UT-Rio Grande Valley, IPUPI, Savannah St, Milwaukee, etc etc........

This is exactly the point. SEC teams will generate a lot more interest and revenue than these other options. And if you develop a good working relationship in b-ball maybe you can get the occasional H/H in football.

Aresco and the conference need to step in. If the NBA can appoint a special assistant to help the Sixers, surely the AAC can appoint someone to run ECU Basketball. This schedule is a disgrace.

Yep, and sorry ECU fans but this is a total and complete embarrassment not only to your school but to this conference. Has to make one wonder just what was the thinking in adding ECU to this conference.

Remember, the original Big East invite was football only. They got the full invite when the Big East was raided. Tulane and ECU basketball was what help drive the C7 to bolt.

I would think the conference is fully aware of our non-conference schedule.

2012 was when the intial offer and there were upset with Tulane Basketball.

I stand corrected ECU was not part of the C7 split but Tulane basketball was admitted .

Football has historically scheduled the toughest non-conference teams in the region (Miami, WVU, etc) and most of us clown on NC State for putting Gardner-Webb and Presbytstian College on their schedule, yet a large part of the fanbase seems completely happy with a basketball schedule that is an absolute embarrassment. You can say what you want about ECU being a 'football school' but someone must step up and change the culture of the basketball program.

Its especially infuriating when our illustrious AD chaired the recent strategic planning group that specifically indicated better scheduling. I'd love to ask Compher how he justifies this situation.

You're talking about the same man that deleted his Twitter because he didn't want to deal with the backlash of firing Ruff. You're just going to get some pre-written copy/paste response.

Our schedule isn't complete but already there are some nice pieces.
The Shocks play @ Baylor (Dec. 2 - 1st of H/H), @ Oklahoma State (Dec. 9 - return game) and Oklahoma (Dec. 16 - return game at Intrust Bank Arena in downtown Wichita).
The Shockers also play in the Maui Invitational (Nov. 20-22). Other teams are California, LSU, Marquette, Michigan, Notre Dame, VCU and host Chaminade. The tournament takes place at the Lahaina Civic Center.
It's a great day to be a Shocker!

Please tell us more about this Maui Invitational? I've never heard of it before.
