Up the Fuckin Tics!!!!

No offense meant, and that was a hell of a fight, but I really would rather see Leeds back up. It always seemed odd that the team in the 4th largest city with the 10th largest stadium wasn't playing in the Prem. Plus, I feel like Bielsa would be hilarious in the top flight.

As a Wigan fan I have nothing against Leeds. Wouldn't mind them going up either. Just wanna secure our survival above all and focus on a more competitive Championship campaign next season.

WTH happened to Man United? Did that Barca defeat demoralize them to the point they decided to not show up at all against Everton?

They were playing poorly even before Barca. Its the inevitable reversion back to the mean after playing out of their minds for a new manager. The squad just isnt that good. They've spent a lot of money on players that either arent very good(Fred, Herrera, etc) or dont fit well with the other pieces(Pogba, Lukaku, etc).

So, villa player gets hurt in a 0-0 game 72 minutes in. Leeds needing victory feigns kicking the ball out of of play in sportsmanship. Then plays a quick through ball and scores. Villa gets angry and a melee ensues. In the fracas, Patrick Bamford of Leeds flops terrifically to get a villa player red carded. Frustrated by what he sees, Marcelo Bielsa orders his players to let Villa score. They do and the game ends 1-1. Costing Leeds automatic promotion to the premier league

Doesn’t ever look like Leeds pretended they were going to kick the ball out to me. Villa just switched off, I wouldn’t have been upset if my team scored that way.

I think kicking the ball out for an injured player is possibly the dumbest thing about soccer. If a player is truly hurt the referee(s) should determine that and stop play. If they don’t, play on. Players shouldn’t have to determine the safety of others, that’s the referee’s job.

Unfortunately the laws of the game make that very confusing. The Ref is only allowed to stop it for a head injury or obvious emergency situation. Hence why it becomes good sportsmanship if you kick it out.

And honestly, Leeds did slow it down. They came to a near stop...got Villa to come to a stop, and then completed the pass. Then Bamford managed to get a Villa player sent off for no reason. It was pretty ridiculous.

Incredible what Klopp has done with Liverpool. Given their relative youth and what it means on the transfer market, is it fair to say that their starting 11 is valued in excess of 1 billion? I haven't put pen to paper, but I think it's possible.

Even if they don't win the league this year (looking more and more likely that City are going to see it out), they are set for a 4-5 year (if not more) run with this group of players. I can also imagine the quality of player that Klopp can now attract, so it can get even better!

Yep. As a Barca fan, Liverpool have me worried.

Say what you will about Bamford flopping, there were multiple red card offenses(hands to the face, etc) committed by Villa players in the fracas. Villa was lucky to still have 10 players.

Also, Leeds shouldnt have given the free goal. Villa switched off.

Yup. Watching it Villa just assumed that Leeds was going to kick it out when Leeds gave absolutely no indication that they were.

You play until the ball goes out or the ref blows the whistle.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Bielsa finally acquiesced was because John Terry looked like he was going to throw a chair at him. That isn't typically in Loco's DNA.

I thought Jannson was gonna come over and punch Bielsa.

The touch line stuff was just as bad, if not worse, than what happened on the field. I'm shocked the League hasn't issued any bans/fines yet. One thing's for sure, I cannot wait for the Promotion Playoff if they end up playing...

If Leeds lose to Ipswich and WBA beat Derby in the final day it would be the first round of the playoff....and the first match would be at Villa Park.

Derby are playing for a spot in the playoff though (depending on how their match with Swansea goes tomorrow), so I doubt it'll be an easy win for West Brom.

I really just want Leeds back up...their seasons in the late 90s were part of the first few overseas years that I really started tracking soccer as a viewer, and before they started hitting significant debts, they were incredibly fun to watch and competed at some of the highest levels. Hell, less than 20 years ago, they were in the Champions League Semis and only 3 points away from the PL title...kind of crazy how far they fell. Plus, their away kits this year are styled to hell...love them.

The PL is a better place when the biggest clubs are in it. Its fun to see clubs like Brighton, Bournemouth, etc in the PL but its better when you have Leeds and Villa, etc

Couldn't agree more...I mean, how there aren't teams from Leeds, Sheffield, and Nottingham in the Prem (4th, 5th, and 7th largest cities in the UK) is beyond me. Plus the history from all of the clubs in those cities (outside of Wednesday) is so great that they really deserve to be back up...at least one will be joining this season though, and it'll be nice to see the Blades up.

Is the reason we haven't seen these clubs in the PL due to ownership issues?
