I agree with him. Running against the boogieman does not work when he has a whole term+ left in office.

There are no real policies on the agenda besides very wide and nebulous terms like "equality", "tolerance", "love", BS, BS, and more BS. It's the post 2008 GOP.

The economy is an important part to actually take a stand on. If you can't come up with ways to bring old manufacturing back, you're going to have to come up with concrete ways to bring in new jobs.

Hows that whole effort worked out for dems over the last 8 years?

The problem is there may not be a solution. Some of the best minds in the country come up empty when this question is posed.

Check out this from Harvard Business School competitiveness survey of 9750 alumni (including moi). Look at the suggestions. Not much more than the standard. In other words, no magic bullet or idea.

Well Hillary's idea was to throw even more of them out of work. The Democrat's answer is basically, "Let them eat cake." i.e. send them back to school or retraining.

Trump acknowledged there was a problem and was going to attack things that contributed to the problem-trade deals, unlimited immigration, tax policy.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

I don't think there is one either. But they aren't going to take too kindly to knowing that they're screwed.

I would venture to guess it is because he leans conservative. No place is slumming for a conservative. Non of the identity/snobbery and such.
