UM is much improved and in a year our OL will be in flux and who knows who will be our QB... if we were riding in there with a senior laden improving team I'd be optimistic... but truth is we don't even know yet how this new coaching staff is going to do... Its a money game... and exposure game. Need to at the very least be competitive for a half...

That was a frustrating game. If memory serves, it was 7-7. Then we missed a FG, got the ball back, then threw a pick-6 when we were threatening UM's red zone. That sequence pretty much killed our confidence for the rest of the game.

Anything can happen in any year. But it's too bad we couldn't take advantage of that RichRod/Hoke window like Toledo and App State did. You don't get many stretches of years when UM is down like that.

I remember our interior lineman were all like 3rd string, and once scUM actually figured that out, they were blitzing 2 linebackers right up the middle every play. Alex got hurt, fumbled....God called off the dogs.

Ditto this. I would LOVE to see the Broncos vs Army, home and home. Would be only game I root against Army. And an away game at West Point would be a great experience for the team and any fans who make the trip. Trust me, it is a special place and a special experience.

Army is in the middle of a home and home with Eastern, who comes to Michie Stadium this year.

only after the most blatant no call on a pass interference in the endzone I have ever seen. I'm still so pissed about that... I think it was a fumble for 6 when alex got sacked there.... grrr

RE: Big News???
The problem with playing one of the academies is they all use a unique offense that we never see again the rest of the season and thus would be difficult to prepare for-defend.

Playing at Michie Stadium, Annapolis, USAFA would be great experiences - but tough to win.

Perhaps another loss that might keep us out of a better bowl game and a week of preparation and a game that wouldn't help us at all the rest of the season.

Let's concentrate on beating State this fall while their AD is in full turmoil and they're scrambling to keep their most talented players from prison.

Harbaugh's father was fired as our HC in 1986 (rightfully so).

I suspect he would have his team ready to play us.

I think WMU is as good a football program as the academies, and should be capable of beating them as often as we lose to them at least; and particularly Army, which (I hate to admit) is not as good as either USNA or USAFA. Army plays a weaker schedule than we do, and had a nice season last year but has been down for many years prior to that.

I agree about the offense played at the academies, but we play other teams like that now and then, and it would be a lot more exciting playing the academies. If it ever happens that we play at Army, I will buy all the beer for my Bronco Stampede brethren; except for the ones I don't like. Lol.

Yeah, if we're going to be playing these sorts of games, $1.2 million doesn't hurt.

AND, do not forget, the expenses to play a game @UofM or MSU are small.

Compare that to a game say @USC.

And for say EMU, playing @UofM is like playing a home game. The team stays in a hotel the night before the game so the only additional expense is the bus to A2.

I also think it has to help recruiting the kids in SE Michigan/NW Ohio that may not be able to see a game in Kalamazoo. A good showing at the big house could go a long way to swing recruits to Western.

Not as big of an issue if they play one annually.

I would like to see WMU develop some scheduling partnerships across sports with AAC and C-USA teams.

Not opposed to this if it's somewhat regional.

Cincinnati, MTSU, Memphis, WKU, Marshall, etc.

I'm hoping this matchup happens in a bowl game. But how about a home&home with Minnesota?

There is absolutely no way PJ would do that. Why would he want to come back to Kalamazoo and get booed? I also doubt Kathy B has any interest in making this happen.

Next time you want to use my Bronco Stampede posts for your Twitter feed why don't you also credit me for countless times I've posted stuff on here then minutes later it shows up on WMU Sports £ag. Whatever a Fleckenstein is? Doesn't seem like a positive connotation. Just because I want to see Fleck get his comeuppance at the hands of Lester and Flecks own recruits, that makes me a disciple of Fleck? Maybe you should change your twitter handle to WMUlaxer97STEIN.

a home/home with Marshall would be outstanding. MTSU and Memphis would be great if WMU could rotate betwen those two
