Each scholarship athlete gets 2, 1 or 0 points depending on his circumstances.

There is a nice like diagram explaining how points are assigned.

Easiest are players who are academically eligible in spring or graduate = 2 points.

Players who leave school academically INeligible earn ZERO points.

Leaving school while eligible OR staying in school while INeligible are worth 1 point.

The highest possible score is # of scholarship athletes x 2.

The number of points earned is divided by the number of scholarship players x2 and the resultant fraction is multipled x 1,000 yielding a score out of 1,000 possible points.

If we have 80 scholarship players and 78 are eliglilbe in spring or graduated, and two leave but are academically eligible our score wold be:

(78 x 2) + (2 x 1) = 158 point / 160 possible points. Multiply x 1,000 = 988.

Bench mark is 930 (or 940 two year average).
