Now 10-12 in conference and 20-26 overall. Have won 8 of last 10.
You ARE an excited Owl my friend!
Miss. Southern up 11-2 Top 9
Hey, given what we're lived through this season, we're finally seeing some confidence and momentum. Pitching is still spotty, with two many gifted runs (2 of 4 Charlotte runs tonight were gifted), but the offense is finally living up to it's preseason hype.
and if you understand baseball, this is the best time for that to happen....
you guys might become a thorn in our paw once again....
all kidding aside...it's good to see you guys on a roll...
kudos and

RE: 5/5 - 5/7 CUSA baseball weekend action
It's frustrating to see that our %$@^ ups earlier this season are coming back to haunt us in the form of tiebreakers.
However, I'm reasonably confident that we make the tourney even if we lose the next two games to Charlotte.
IMO, we should be able to go 5-1 against MT and @UAB. 15 wins is damn near guaranteed to get you in the tourney (we have 10 wins right now).
Combine that with the fact that LA Tech (who we're only two games back of) is playing FIU right now, and then plays Marshall next weekend... They'll beat up on each other's conference record one way or the other.
Moreover, UTSA has to travel to Charlotte next week and then host USM at home on the last weekend. We are only one game back of them.
Of course, Late April/Early May Rice needs to keep playing, not Late March Rice.

I feel the same about USM. Much better to only need to beat you guys once, rather than twice. 6th place for Rice is fine for me.

Going into the 7th, the Monarchs are leading 7-3.
EDIT: The Monarchs get 4 more in their half the 7th and now lead 11-3.
EDIT 2: Going into the 9th, ODU holding on to their 11-3 lead -- no outs.

Well, my C-USA screen went blank with two out in the 9th. I assume the Monarchs won the first game, 11-3. Anybody know for sure the game is over?

that was one of the craziest finishes I've ever seen.....
we hit the batter 4 times in one inning by our stud reliever (who's been struggling lately) and win it on a a wild pitch after our hottest hitter drives in the tying run in b9....
our coach pulled our starter wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tooooooooooooooo early today....
both games, the pitcher has been pulled after 6/7 tossing a 2 hit shutout.......right now I gut punch our pitching coach....

FAU leading 5-4 b9th with 2 outs and 2 strikes...Eagles with a runner on 2nd get a triple to tie it up at 5. Next at bat, FAU pitcher throws a wild pitch and eagles win 6-5! Going for the sweep tomorrow. TTT!!!
