Assistant Coach Ashlee McGee has resigned so Coach O will be adding a new face to the staff for next year. Best wishes to Coach McGee and thanks for all her hard work this year.

Wow, Coach O "ain't" backing down from nobody. I know he did all the scheduling the last few years for Coach KB, makes me wonder if he's maintained that responsibility or has turned it over to an assistant. I may email him, he's good at getting back to me in the past.

Speaking of next year's team, there was an article posted on the JMU Rivals page about our other recruit for next year, Breyenne Bellerand.

Not being able to connect on 3's is meaningless to me, unless she's shooting them and missing. I'd rather her continue to concentrate on what she does well than to try to develop something she's not comfortable with. Heck, Micken's almost never shot a three.

Think I can count on both hands the number of threes I saw Muff take over her 4 years. A shutdown defender who can drive and score is a great addition to the lady Dukes. Plenty of other people on the team who can shoot threes if needed.

Looking forward to next year with Kayla coming back and the two transfers playing. Front court will be big no doubt. Just need to figure out who the go to shooter(s) will be.

It seems like Barron's 3 pt shooting declined this season. It would be nice to get her back into the flow for her senior year. Smalls and Barrier will need to shoot more, but I have a feeling we are really gonna be pounding it in low next season.

RE: WBB 2017-18
Actually I think Hailee's 3 pt shooting got much better this year compared to last year. Last year her 3 pt shooting was terrible, she could not hit anything. That continued into the beginning of this year, she was missing everything. Around the end of non conference play she suddenly started to hit 3's again. Not at the same clip as her freshman year but a heck of a lot better that last year. Not sure what her final stats were but in the beginning of the season i would cringe whenever she tried a 3, by the end of the season I was seeing them go in.

In any case she needs to continue to work on whatever she did this season to keep her shooting up. I have confidence she will

Did have one hilarious crucial 3 though. @American, 2014, I was at the game. Up 1 with 40 seconds to play, she held it until the end of the shot clock and launched a deep 3. Did not call bank, but clanked right off the backboard and in to seal it with 8 seconds to play. Unlikeliest of shooters and outcomes.

Definitely a "no, no, no, YES!" situation.

She was the ultimate of knowing what she did well and worked hard to perfect it. She allowed others to be good in the areas she lacked.

Absolutely. I love that we seem to consistently get players that put the team ahead of their own stats. The only name that matters on their uniform is on the front of the jersey, and the only stat that matters is the number of W's.

Looking to Barron, Barrier, and Smalls a lot. Barrier has to figure out how not to foul so much though. She fouled out a lot last year, but you can credit much of that to freshman mistakes. I'm also interested in seeing Tori Harris, as I'm familiar with her big brother Tobias from his time at Tennessee.

The incoming freshman look like a couple of potentially great players for the Dukes!!
