CSUB adds Arkansas on December 27th. So far the known non conference games are The Great Alaska shootout (opens with Alaska Anchorage), at UCLA, at Arizona, at Delaware and now at Arkansas. Barnes putting together a challenging schedule. Really happy with what he's doing with the schedule.

CSUB should do more Ivy League H/H like the Dartmouth one. That was cool to see. Seattle U had one with Harvard once, Jeremy Lin destroyed us in Seattle.

CSUB released their full schedule today. Home and home with Georgia Southern is cool and Idaho should be solid I believe. Lamar also made the CIT last year. Tough way to close out the season with GCU twice in the last 4 games as well as Utah Valley. Really solid schedule lots of tough road games, very happy with it. Probably their hardest schedule yet.

Thu, Nov 16 at Arizona
Sun, Nov 19 at Lamar
Wed, Nov 22 Alaska-Anchorage

Life Pacific?? I thought I had heard of most all non-DI schools that schedule thusly. Never heard that one before today.

Looks like it has some history with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aimee_Semple_McPherson whom Southern Californians who know their history will likely be familiar with.

Not too shabby. You have some tests in the non-conference and have the opportunity for some RPI boosts. The H/H with Georgia Southern is interesting. And I'm a big fan of the Great Alaska shootout.

Having NMSU, GCU (2x) and UVU as 4 of your last six games is brutal. But will probably go a long ways towards deciding the WAC regular season champ. I think conferences like to add that intrigue to the end of a season.

I have known this for a while but for those who don't CSUB is playing in the Great Alaska Shootout which is very cool although the tournament has definitely seen better days. There was a time when it was a premier early season tournament. On the positive though it looks very winnable. The other teams are the host Alaska Anchorage, Cal Poly, Central Michigan, College of Charleston, Idaho, Sam Houston State and Santa Clara. By the way anybody know around what time the rest of the non-conference games will be announced? I hope CSUB schedules really good teams again like last year with Arizona and SMU. Two close games until the end.

It appears CSUB will play in the very last Great Alaska Shootout ever. They are discontinuing the tournament after many great years.

That is too bad. That was a great early season tournament to watch over the years.

Doubtful. Its demise began when ESPN stopped being apart of it and started their own tournaments. I think their will be just one less tournament.

RE: 2017 non-conference opponents
So far...

Cal State Bakersfield is participating in the Great Alaska Shootout; with Alaska Anchorage, Cal Poly, College of Charleston, Central Michigan, Sam Houston State, Idaho, and Santa Clara.

UM Kansas City is participating in the Gulf Coast Showcase; with Florida Gulf Coast, Manhattan, Georgia Southern, Missouri State, Penn, Northern Illinois, Towson.

New Mexico State is participating in the Diamond Head Classic; with Hawaii, Davidson, Miami (FL), Middle Tennessee, Princeton, USC, and Akron.

Seattle U. is participating in the regional round of the 2k Sports Classic against Washington and the sub-regional round (in Nashville, TN) with Detroit Mercy, Houston Baptist, and Belmont.

Chicago State is participating in the campus preliminary games of the Battle 4 Atlantis against Purdue and Northern Iowa and the regional games (in Baltimore, MD) with UMBC, Presbyterian, Nicholls State.

Grand Canyon is participating on the Valley of the Sun Shootout against St. John's.

One game I find interest is GCU plays Morgan State at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas (Dec. 27th). Is there any particular why that game is played there?

Majerle wanted to give the players a feel for the routine for the WAC Tournament. From the hotel they are staying at to playing on the court.

I guess it's a smart move by Majerle and a program which has money to burn. When you consider the player turnover on some of the WAC rosters, it might give the Lopes a familiarity with environment come March. Considering NMSU only returns five players from last season's tournament championship team; the WAC tournament & Vegas will be new experience for our new head coach and his revamped Aggie roster.
