Maybe, but every time he was in the game I was almost expecting him to get hurt. I actually thought he was reasonably skilled. He could pass a little, seemed to know what was going on. Sure he displayed some rust, but who wouldn't given his past.
he actually seemed to be getting into an offensive groove going to the basket when he got hurt.
I felt for the kid.

He made a mistake leaving the program
He realized he was not going to play next year, seriously think about it, there are 3 players on the team and you know you can't break the rotation. He had a one year tryout here, he was a known quantity, and they encouraged him to transfer.
Yep. He had no chance of seeing the floor, not even sure staying was really an option.
Of course, this is on Tubby for not being able to fill out the roster, but when you had a guy who was getting minutes when healthy who really had no business playing basketball at that level, there's a pretty damn big problem with the roster.
sounds about like that one player Josh signed in his first season who ended up not being able to come here cuz he tore up a knee(?)
Martin something last name started with a N(?)

Just looked up Martin N'Galoro.
Evidently, he never played again.
I can't find anything.

How do you know he made a mistake? Maybe he wants something different than what you think he does/should.

Good insight...
I am sure he sees that Pro basketball is not his future...He already has his degree.
I guess it is possible other things, Maybe education, are more important than basketball

RE: chad ryhoek - not being mean
Of course, only Chad knows what is important to him, but his decision to leave was surprising in some respects. He did say in his statement when he left that he wanted to play one more season. True, he had to know that the staff was looking to upgrade his spot, but it wasn't likely that Coach Smith was going to run him off. There was a spot here on the roster as a back up center. He probably wouldn't be looking at a lot of minutes, but that's probably the case wherever he goes, unless he drops down in level. Even then, his health is still a consideration.
He'd already put in a year at Memphis towards his graduate degree, so even with a limited role on the team I thought he might hang around and finish that. And in terms of facilities, status, etc., Memphis might be the best basketball environment out there for him.
Of course, at the time he decided to leave, the situation was looking really bleak, with players leaving or contemplating leaving, and they hadn't shored up the roster with some additional players. He might not have wanted to end his college career in a situation that had that kind of cloud hanging over it. Or maybe he just wants to get back to Texas, where he's from.
I wish him good health and good luck.

RE: chad ryhoek - not being mean
It is a head-scratcher to me why he decided to transfer. If he was quitting basketball for his health, I could understand, but to leave to go to another school is a puzzle to me.
