Irwin Gomez-Colon, a 31-year-old illegal immigrant from Honduras, is facing second-degree murder charges after he allegedly raped, strangled, and stabbed Nancy Yahaira Gonzalez Rodriguez to death, according to WWL-TV.

Before 2015, Gomez-Colon was arrested by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency in Texas for being in the U.S. illegally. However, Gomez-Colon’s case was dismissed.

Then, in April 2015, Gomez-Colon was arrested by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) and charged with allegedly kidnapping, raping, and strangling a woman. The charges against Gomez-Colon, though, were later dropped because of inconsistencies in the statements by the alleged victim, according to the district attorney.

In that case, Gomez-Colon was allegedly friends with the victim when he entered her home. After speaking for about 30 minutes, Gomez-Colon said he was going to use the bathroom, but when he came back, he had a knife and forced the victim into a bedroom where he allegedly raped and strangled her.

Now, Gomez-Colon is accused of murdering Gonzalez Rodriguez, whom police say he raped, strangled, and stabbed more than 20 times. When the victim was found, her 4-year-old son was sitting next to her crying.

So are we going to update all rapes or just cherry pick the results that help the scoreboard? Are you going to posts articles where an illegal did something good?

I understand the point of the post, but I really hate when we are just posting stuff to point to the scoreboard.

We know what the problem is, the answer is how to fix it? That does not screw the values of what this country was founded on, that does not break this country financially. But if you had those answers you would not be on this message board.

When our President is under assault for his attempts to stop illegal immigration to help protect us, I have no problem posting a murder committed by an illegal, especially one that had been previously arrested and released.

You see it as a scoreboard. I see it as pointing out why our President's crusade against illegal immigration is justified. I also feel terrible for this poor woman and her child she left behind. Her murderer should have never been in this country to commit this senseless murder.

I think most people agree that immigration is an issue we need to tackle but people disagree with the way Trump wants to do it. There are smart ways to handle this, then there are walls and travel bans. I support lengthy vetting processes, allowing law enforcement to actually enforce current immigration laws, giving them the resources to beef up border security, and rounding illegals up to ship home that are currently here.
