Well.. thats where I live.. so they are going to either play at the FC Dallas stadium (20K capacity) or Jerry Jones new facility (12K capacity) .

It WAS one of ours. Putting a 10 win team that was one game away from playing in the Conference Championship, up against a crap MAC team in the middle of a workday was criminal.

Guess we sold it

The Miami Beach Bowl is getting a new owner and a new home.

The three-year-old bowl game — which was founded, owned and operated by the American Athletic Conference — has been acquired by ESPN Events, the league announced on Friday.

I thought the big carrot of creating that bowl was the locale.

Miami Beach Bowl
I like this. Gives me a bowl game option to attend as a neutral in DFW that isn't 1) Overpriced (Cotton Bowl), 2) disorganized and in a woefully outdated stadium (Heart of Dallas Bowl), or 3) benefitting TCU (Armed Forces Bowl)

What the heck. I thought the whole reason we started this bowl, is so it could become our showcase bowl and we would eventually get some decent opponents in there. At least that's what we were told.

RE: Miami Beach Bowl
Why the hell would we sell it. That bowl was our best shot at building a game that would have a quality opponent for our champ. Any bowl willing to pay enough to land a quality opponent from a P5 conference isn't going to sign a tie with the AAC. The only way that's going to happen is if we actually own the bowl.

no offense to our Texican friends here on San Jacinto Day but that move has absolutely no appeal for anyone outside the metroplex. at least the MBB had Miami Beach.
