The OVC is generally for lower budget schools in DI, while WIU is now the only Slummit team with an old barn for mbb. Would renew it's rivalry with EIU, but they play anyway.

EIU and WIU are kind of languishing in DI, as they were the poor brothers of the original Summit /Midcontinent 8 that moved up in the late 1970s. UNI, Valpo, Mo St, Green Bay etc have wholly separated themselves. EIU and WIU are probably better off in DII as the Illinois budget and enrollment systems will likely punish them more.

This is so irrelevant, and yet it seems to take over every thread. The Dakotas are not very important to anyone beyond those living in the Dakotas. Your arguing is the equivalent of midget wrestling. Annoying and yet perversely entertaining to some, but definitely not appropriate for this topic. Nor for most you take over.
