I'll grant you the NYT is silly for drawing comparisons on such a non-story. However, it's fair game to wonder where Tom Brady was considering he's the face of the franchise and a Trump supporter. He claimed family matters kept him away (his wife's mother is ill) but it is true too that his wife is not a Trump fan at all and has voiced support for a lot of climate change organizations that are very much anti-Trump.
