Democratic U.S. Senate seats fell from 55 to 46. Their share of the House plummeted from 256 seats to 194.
Democratic governerships also became a rarity during this eight-year period, slipping from 28 to 16.
The Obama years, which saw the rise of the Tea Party as well as a new movement form around Trump that is still being defined, coincided with a loss of 958 state legislative seats for Democrats

Bu yeah, by all means, count it as a big win and keep doubling down on current philosophies.

its a Republican district. If they win, it unquestionably sends a shot across the republican bow... which is what they are hoping to do. If they lose, then they've lost a seat historically held by a Republican... and a conservative one at that.

yep .The ole "if we squeak out a win, its a huge shot across the bow, but if we lose, it was to be expected" delusionary talking point.
Reality is that Trump was this district by only 1.5 points, and the democrats have spent so much money on this election that it rivals the GDP of some small countries.
And here's the kicker. Can any libturd on here tell me what Osaff's message is?

I agree. They spent so much time and money on this seat but In reality it will likely be a symbolic victory for 1 year. Will they be able to spend the amount of time and money needed to win seats like this in 2018 when there are 400+ going on? I guess we will see

He's given up on his anti-Trump message. Dems figured out that was turning off moderates.

You have to admire the sentiment in the idea that if we win we win big but if we lose we don't actually.

its Tom Price's district. Certainly, Democrats have pounded the drum to try and get out their vote, but the demographics in that district still support the Republican.

Report: Liberal Jon Ossoff Has 9 Times as Many Cali Donors as GA Donors
I guess Ossoff is the designated savior of the Dems..
Quote:Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff raised funds from 8.9 times as many donors in California than donors in Georgia between March 29 and May 31, according to his latest campaign finance reporting.
Ossoff, a 30-year old documentary filmmaker, faces Republican Karen Handel in a special election Tuesday to replace former Republican Rep. Tom Price who accepted President Donald Trump’s offer to serve as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. (RELATED: Ossoff Sets Record For Out Of State Donations)
He reported 7,218 donations from the state of California and 808 donations from Georgia over the past two months, according to the Mercury News. Ossoff had over 3,000 donors in the San Francisco Bay area alone, nearly four times as many donors as he had in Georgia.
Overall, between March 29 and May 31, Ossoff reported $456,296.03 from California compared to $228,474.44 from Georgia. Ossoff received more than $220,000 from the Bay area alone. The Mercury News noted that the totals were only a fraction of the actual donations since he doesn’t have to report donations of less than $200.

2018? Regardless of what happens, the impact on any election 18 months away is zero.

And apparently the Ossoff campaign is not real happy with these really high numbers.

It's their own fault. Treating Trump like this has simply kept his voters engaged.

I just don't think this race really means much either way as far as big picture.
Repubs already have huge majorities in the House, and the dems are so desperate for a win ANYWHERE that we can't really tell any trend from this anyway. Way too much outside money and influence has been poured in now.

Yup.
All politics are local. The left coast can blow their desperate millions in hopes of one seat in a place they'd likely never deign to actually set foot in, it's what they do.
But we know this is an area of changing demographics and a relatively weak R candidate is still likely to win. Maybe not, but then what changes? Nothing.
Still be Speaker Ryan. Leader McConnell. And POTUS 45, Trump.
BUT GUISE!!! We can add indi-filmmaker Ossoff to the mix!!!
Good luck with that.
