I was under the assumption that the uniforms used for last years scrimmage and the spring game weren't the official football uniforms. The team took pictures this morning in those uniforms. Am I alone in my thinking that these are the worse looking uniforms we've had in a while? And should we be concerned that these may be the actual uniforms for the 2017 season? Somebody please put my mind at ease.

All I know is that UA has the right in the contract to produce special commemorative uniforms for the 2017 season (the return). Nothing about the current uniforms seem special or commemorative, so I'm guessing these aren't them.

A bit plain but nothing horrible about the ones they've used this spring.

Still better looking than plain uniforms having just numbers on the sides of the helmets.

Those are not the unis we will be wearing. We have a ton of uniform and helmet combinations and even as stated above some commemorative and retro.

With regards to this question...no, we should not be. There are too many things in the world to be concerned about right now than whether or not those will be our actual uniforms for the 2017 season. The Blazers I saw outside of that fateful meeting with Watts in 2014 would have played in unicorn pajamas if it meant continuing this program.

For now, I'll let the people that worry about uniforms, worry about uniforms. At least for this season, if it isn't a concern of the players/coaches, I'm not going to be concerned about it.

With regards to this question...no, we should not be. There are too many things in the world to be concerned about right now than whether or not those will be our actual uniforms for the 2017 season. This is a message board. There should be room for meaningless conversation here. Especially in the off season.

With that said, I really don't care either, but I do prefer the 2014 look. There are so many ways to make our unis good, I'm sure they will come up with something to make me forget about those. Again, I trust coach's attention to detail. I'm sure we'll look good.

You should've structured your questions differently then. Using words like "concerned" and phrases like "please put my mind at ease" gave indication that you could be taking the uniform design too seriously.

But, mostly, I was giving you my best possible reasoning why we shouldn't be concerned. You asked the question...don't be upset when you get answers.

I'm not a little bit upset. It was just pointless for you to go into stuff we ALL already know. Nobody collects cool points anymore, but you for sure tried with that one. Like my other commenter said, it's the off season. Uniforms are a part of football and it's okay for fans to have an opinion. It's a UAB thread, meaning all UAB topics can be discussed. Im just as excited about the season as everyone else but recruiting is slow right now, the season doesn't start for another 4 plus months, and so unis is something I wanted to know more about. You really didn't have to respond as my questions were already answered.

Glad to hear that those aren't the final uniforms, I remember thinking at the spring game how boring and cheap they looked.

You started with hyperbole and I responded with an answer that was at the same level as your original post. Then you accused me of taking some out of proportion...when you yourself said "somebody please put my mind at ease."

That's a phrase fit for somebody waiting for a call from the police about a missing child, not somebody talking about football uniforms.

I have no problem whatsoever with people talking about football related things (like uniforms, etc) on a sports forum. Notice my response was not to your entire post, just the one question you posed. Agreed. You can hardly make out those gold numbers on the white uniforms at the spring game.
