Mizzou is in the MAC and they've been stronger than OU for the past 2 decades. I'm a wrestling fanatic who goes to OU meets every year and grew up going to meets at Carver (Iowa) Hilton (Iowa St) and UNI Dome (UNI). Dan Gable is a family friend.

Logistically, it makes sense for UNI to move from the MAC to the BIg XII, I just don't see it happening. Unfortunately, I fear that UNI wrestling is in the hot seat with UNI's budget constraint. Besides, if they really want out of the Valley with hopes of going to the MAC all sports, Wrestling would be the first to go.

Iowa is crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy for wrestling. Don't see UNI dropping it at all.

Boise St has put a pause in, temporarily saving wrestling until Monday because of concerns. President Kustra will officially announce a verdict on April 24th

True but getting OU, OSU, and WVU in addition to the schools already in the MAC would make the MAC an even better wrestling conference. It is pretty solid already but that would be an upgrade I think.

Translation?

Doubt the president wasn't filled in by the athletic director about this move, and hadn't already given it the green light, before the announcement ...

Must be a big booster pissed off.

Flowrestling.org has the story. Students are p.o.ed again, so Kustra is trying to placate them.

Not that I know that much about Idaho but wrestling seems to be a sport with a decent fan following in that state, moreso than baseball. Baseball in a state that far north must be a tough go and wrestling certainly cannot be more expensive than baseball, should be less expenseive
