There goes David's reason for Boise State to the PAC-12.

Boise was already in the PAC for wrestling, but I get your point.

Oh crap. What does this mean for Pac-12 wrestling? Can we poach Air Force and Northern Colorado from the Big 12? Or maybe convince the other western schools to shift wrestling over to the MPSF?

Utah Valley can switch from the Big12 to the PAC12, which would probably favored by them anyway.

N Iowa is rumored to be switching from the MAC to the Big12 for wrestling.

Boise baseball would fit well in the MWC, as it would go from 7 members to a tidy 8.

That sucks for the PAC, with Oregon and now Boise dropping the sport.

I would think really all of the Big 12 affiliates, save for the Dakotas, would make sense switching to the PAC.

That could leave the Big 12 with: NDSU, SDSU, Iowa St, OU, OK St, and W Virginia.

Not sure if that post was tongue in cheek ...

... but as I'm sure you know, Fresno dropped wrestling in 2006.

Wrestling returns to Fresno State in 2017-18.

Fresno St has Iowa National Champion and former Oregon St Coach Troy Steiner this year!

Ah, didn't see that. That is great news! Would easily expect Fresno in the PAC, then, as Bakersfield already is there and is a lower school in the CSU system than Fresno.

That's great news about Fresno State. What's an ideal number of teams for a wrestling league, anyway?

Minnesota had 12 standalone dual meets this year, while NDSU had 7 standalone dual meets and then a few multi-team meets. Both of course participated in some individual tournaments, too.

So I guess it just depends what you want and who you can get, for dual meets. Heh ... the NDSU wrestling schedule showed that they had a tri-meet with Cal Poly and Bakersfield (both PAC affiliates) at a high school gym. Guessing that somehow was easiest for logistics.

Probably makes sense for Utah Valley to go to the PAC for wrestling. It also makes sense for the front range schools to stay with the Big XII. Logistically, it makes sense for UNI to move from the MAC to the BIg XII, I just don't see it happening. Unfortunately, I fear that UNI wrestling is in the hot seat with UNI's budget constraint. Besides, if they really want out of the Valley with hopes of going to the MAC all sports, Wrestling would be the first to go.

TO think there was a time not that long ago where Oklahoma State and Oklahoma thought about moving to the MAC for wrestling. Oh well.

Iowa St, Okla St, and OU all have pretty good wrestling programs. http://i.turner.ncaa.com/sites/default/f...stling.pdf

PS - how did N Colorado score a "-1.0" overall team score at the championships??? LOL! Did all their guys lose, and one guy get DQ'ed or something??
