Can Ossoff win special election in Georgia today?

Would be a major, major upset - a Democrat hasn't held this seat in Georgia since the 1970's. He should easily win the Democratic side of the runoff but there is a tiny chance he gets more than 50 percent of the vote and wins the seat outright. Chances are he'll to run against a Republican candidate in a 2nd runoff election, and that one will be the indicator of whether =the anti-Trump movement is stronger than people realize.

He'll lose badly head to head in the runoff if he doesn't get the 50%. With 17 candidates who knows if he breaks that jungle primary threshold.

In that district, during the last two primaries the Republican Party averaged 77,000 voters...The Democrats only averaged about 17,000.

Seems I recall Democrats getting excited about this one too. Funny to check "Occupy Democrats" facebook page in the lead up to the election and after (no coverage). I'm willing to bet 99% of them had no idea what happened. 03-lmfao

Its possible. Depends on turnout. But I think more likely the Democrats will be disappointed and he gets less than 40% and then gets trounced in the runoff. Trump only won by a few points, but Price won reelection by 23 points.

Democrats have pumped enough money into the election. If they lose it should be embarrasing.

“I’m concerned that the election could be decided by the influences coming from the national level and not from within Georgia,” said Liz Hausmann, director of public affairs for the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce.

8.3 million dollars for a Georgia House seat.

I think he'll win the special election today for sure. But if he doesn't get the 50% to prevent another election, I think he'll lose against whoever the Republicans put their weight behind in the final one.

The Dems have pumped $12M into this race. Most ever for a regular house seat. I think he has a good chance of getting over 50% and avoiding a run off. The Dems will show up in bigger numbers. In the big picture will it mean anything, I don't think so.

I kinda hope by some quirk he wins outright and national dims go bananas and all-in on a strategery of nominating the most liberal candidates possible thinking they've found the holy grail.

If the dem wins this is a huge sign, an omen.

If the dem loses, they weren't supposed to win anyway.

Lol. Sounds like old Tiger football

Yeah, and thinking this through, haven't some very entertaining dims come out of the state of Georgia? Wasn't the guy who feared the weight of our military base on Guam could cause it to tip over from Georgia?

And then theres Elijah Smell My Finger Cummings.
