Remember when a lot of yall anointed SB the second coming of TH, yeah that didn't workout for us. Currently speaking of the two qbs we have on the roster I think the 21 fits BL the best, watching the spring game his hand offs to the running backs were beautiful and executed the bootleg pass to the receiver crossing the middle of the field nicely. I am glad Hoy is coming and look forward to seeing him play but until he is slapping asses in the end zone at practice in 3 months I wouldn't disregard our other two QBS on the roster.
Don't know if you were referring to me or not, but if so, I was not saying that Hoy would be the starter. My personal observation is that he appears to be the best runner in the group, and if he is as good as he appears to be, and becomes the starter, the 21 set becomes an even larger threat due to his presence. That said -- two points. First, Both LaRussa and Arnold looked very composed and competent in the spring game, but to me LaRussa appeared to have the edge at this point. Second, though it appears that Hoy is the best runner, Arnold and LaRussa are mobile and will also be just fine in this formation. Kudos to the coaches for putting this into game plan. If the QB turns out to be Hoy, it just adds another dimension to what I believe will be our "go-to" formation this year.
Edit: I think others have answered the question on the 21 set. Keep in mind, we ran that set last year and even made it a 31 by putting Pascal behind DW. What makes it different this year is that, to the best of my recall, I think this spring was the first time we have put Lawry and Cox in the backfield at the same time. I like it!

Spring Game take aways

Agreed! Would love to see him in Monarch Blue. Looks like he has a little bit of a nasty streak as displayed in the block he puts on at 1:30. Let's do this!

Just noticed OL Sosebee is gone also. Not a big loss. I like the depth we are getting on the OL. Redshirt Freshman and new recruits look good, especially Weaver.

Depth on the OL is a concern. I hope we are good enough this year. Not too many cupcakes in 2017...

Not really sure where to put this, but it's a story with video on why Nick Saban hates Satellite camps and now I finally understand why. It's kind of funny when he says he didn't want to talk about it, but he ends up talking about it lol!
