Funny how everyone has been crucifying Tubby the past few weeks and when one of the guys directly affected by his incompetence says eff him, you're all on Tub's side. It's a bad look for KJ, for sure, but it doesn't make me think any differently about how the situation went down. We should all feel lucky our dumb moments from college weren't caught on video. It's unfortunate that KJ had to nuke the relationship by being an idiot on social media. I'm sure Self will have a frank discussion about social media and I'd be surprised if we heard a peep from KJ for a while.

Video doesn't lie! Now, this might give us an indication on what happened in Florida. After that game, it seemed like they may have been uncontrollable. Who wants players like this? Not me. Bill Self can ruin his program with them.

Not a chance in hell will they ruin the KU program. Bill Self has dealt with bigger egos and much more talent for a long time.

Plus they won't have daddy sitting on the bench encouraging their behavior. It will probably be good for them. Maybe they will grow up.

His track record doesn't involve players being extremely disrespectful to a fellow coach on social media. I don't expect Self to pull the offer, but I won't be surprised if KJ has to issue a very public apology and do some community service.

Cal could handle players so he did well with them. Pastner couldn't, so you see what happened with that. Tubby chose to cleanhouse in response. We'll see how well that works if we have enough patience.

Let's not lump KJ and Dedric together. This is KJ's mess... not "the Lawson's."

Tubby has taken the hits publicly but DO we really know what was going on behind the scene? No one is really talking, maybe it's not all on Tubbys supposed incompetence. Consider that

If that's what KJ is saying on camera in a club, then what's he saying in the Locker room, in the hotel room on the road after a loss, in the Finch, in his apartment with other team members around, in the UC, etc...

Hard to coach a team and get guys to buy in if stuff like this is going on, especially when the player feels protected by his dad on staff and the local media.

On the flip side ... putting up with 19 year olds BS is partly why you paid $3M a year...

Tubby isn't going to address it in public. He's going to take the high road like he always does. We wont know his side of the story until he retires and writes his book.
