2017 CAA Basketball Transfers
Looks like I had a total senior moment earlier and got the Quinnipiac asst coach association with Marfo's AAU program totally wrong, since Marfo played for BABC. I'll go hide back down in my hole now!

Official to Quinnipiac now. Reported by the major outlets. Sucks being out recruited.

On the surface I'd agree with you. As I mentioned before, Quinnipiac is in total rebuild mode of which I'm sure he's been assured that he is a centerpiece. Coach Dunleavy has the family pedigree and is a good recruiter. His top assistant is coach Pecora, former HC at Hofstra. He too is known for his recruiting. Prying him away from that final official visit was going to be tough... I was hopeful though.

So, what's next? Rimmer or bust? It doesn't feel as if there are any other pokers in the fire. I'm sure there are other transfers that aren't getting the high major landing spot they are targeting. I guess we will have to wait and see.

An article about Richard Bland center Jaquan Wooten:
http://www.kinston.com/news/20170330/for...ament-team

I have not seen anything indicating WM is one of the DI teams interested but Wooten was mentioned on another thread because of Richard Bland's association with WM.

2017 CAA Basketball Transfers
Things just got interesting, as Schuyler Rimmer's girlfriend (?) just started following TribeMensHoops. Only other programs she has previously followed are Florida and Stanford

Schuyler Rimmer's girlfriend? How do you even find that? Anyway, can Schuyler play immediately for us as our big man option has entered a desperate stage?

Well, it's kind of obvious with their retweets and pics. If he gets a NCAA waiver, then he would be like any other immediately eligible grad transfer. Political science major, so, I presume more options in the 'Burg than a kinesiology major. He had remained a walk-on at Florida, since transferring from Stanford, so, I would think more final year playing time and a scholly would be a better option than remaining at FL. Certainly all speculation still.

Still hope Jack will keep "staying in the 'Burg" in his decision making process, if a Tribe grad program is an option. Would love having all three post players lined up for next year. Think with that scenario we'd have a far better shot at challenging CofC for the title and that breakthrough dance.

RE: 2017 CAA Basketball Transfers
That sixth year waiver has always been a bit of a crap-shoot. Some guys get it immediately (even when you think there isn't a chance in... of it happening) and others have to really work/wait for it. Hopefully, that means Schuyler is getting some good vibes on the process.

He would be a great asset.

JMU's Russian player seemed to get the waiver about 4 times.

2017 CAA Basketball Transfers
Curious if we are attempting to use all three available 2017 scholarships or just settling on securing a post player. Would hope we're still looking hard at any remaining HS talent, even if not a big man.

Lafayette grad transfer 6'5" SG Monty Boykins, and one time Tribe recruit, is still available. Proven scorer, but injury limited his senior year.

UVA's Jarred Reuter committed to George Mason. Two years eligibility. Would have liked to see us in the mix for him. GMU PF roster getting more crowded. Can't help but wonder if Calixte will regret his decision down the road.

Hmmmm... I very well may be wrong, but I feel like our coaches showed interest in him in high school.

"Georgetown announces F Akoy Agau will transfer. Energy big man appeared in 32 games last year, averaging 4.5 points and 4.3 rebounds."

Believe Louisville was his first stop before transferring to Georgetown. Some issues his freshman year at Louisville. #75 ranking his senior HS year, and don't think we were ever involved. Wouldn't be surprised if he moves on to Nebraska, since Omaha is home.

Jeff Greer @jeffgreer_cj

Butler, Dayton, Georgetown, UGA, Ga Southern, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, UNLV, William & Mary contacted transferring Louisville guard Jay Henderson

http://www.courier-journal.com/story/spo...101173602/

Had offers from a lot of HM programs his senior year, including Stanford, and took walk on redshirt offer to St. John's with understanding he'd be on scholarship the following year, then fell through with coaching change. Spent two walk on seasons at Louisville. Top 25 FL recruit, HS backcourt mate of Joel Berry. Two years eligibility.

Orlando area now seems to be our ground zero for transfer recruiting.
