@geoff_calkins @mgiannotto Geoff you buried the lead! Mark was just going to talk about admin not letting Tubby talk! What’s that story?

Mark thinks Tubby would like to be out there, talking, but the administration doesn't want him to talk at the moment.

Don’t understand why they wouldn’t let him talk. Seems odd to me.

Attempt to get all their stories together before allowing comments.

Total dead weight. Who have either brought in? All the kids Lawson were in with are getting ready to graduate in the next two years , and tubby screwed the pooch for his own son.

I am guessing not good, based on how many jobs he's been rumored to be associated with the past few years that he hasn't gotten.

Maybe they are there to coach all of the no STAR players being brought in? Its got to be tough teaching no talent teenagers how to dribble and shoot?

I'm guessing they are good dribbling teachers. See if someone would convince Tubby the STAR system, they could kick back during the season and just roll the balls out.

I've seen him really struggle with the tough questions.

There's really no point in making media appearances now, other than to provide more fodder for talk shows and message boards. I'd rather the coach focus on recruiting and his other obligations (such as the sponsors event yesterday). If Coach Smith holds true to his history, he'll have a press conference sometime in the next week or two (or three) to talk about the incoming class, the transfers, and the general state of the program. I doubt that anything he says would calm the waters, anyway. People already have their minds made up.

Yep. People clamored for Bowen to make a statement. He did, and got lit up locally and nationally for it. Would have been better served to just stay quiet - at least for a couple of weeks. I mean, the media is already in feeding-frenzy status. So they're just circling for more blood.

RE: Tubby not allowed to speak by AD?
Tubby did a 30 minute interview with Wolo on Sports 56 this AM. I am sure the podcast will be up soon on their site (if it isn't there already).

Peter Edmiston was not there today and I wish he was as he would be able to ask the tougher questions that Wolo likely couldn't.

Exactly. Coach Smith did an appearance on local radio today and I'm already reading criticism that he went to a "friendly" outlet. And his statements are getting dissected by people trying to find something to complain about instead of actually listening to what he said. Like you said, feeding frenzy.
