Sad thing is that Chandler will prolly follow the family, and he was going to be the best one. Oh well.

If Markel transfers to Kansas then I will be fully convinced Self has a personal vendetta against us because we hired Tic Price over him.

This is pretty cool we'll have at least 3 kids on the KU roster this coming year and don't rule out Crawford going there. With the Lawson's KU has a chance to get to the championship game! Go Memphis kids!

Ya, probably not. But it will be somewhere between your prediction and those predicting they do not play hardly any minutes...

They both will get plenty of minutes and be good players at Kansas. They were good players here but could not seem to make others around them better. They will not have to do that at Kansas because they will likely not be the most talented players on the team which will in turn help them immensely IMO.

They both will get plenty of minutes 03-lmfao03-lmfao

I was in Tulsa for their first and second round games. Both players would have played on this years team and Dedric would have gotten plenty of floor time. KJ, not as much but he is not as good as Dedric. However, given a year or two under Self then yes he will be getting plenty of minutes. He was AAC ROY for a reason...

I agree 100% adding the Lawson's and maybe Crawford and their is another Memphian already on the team... they should be able to get to the championship game!! Go Memphis kids at KU!

Dedric's stats will be hampered by stiffer competition and better talent around him. Look for about 10 and 5 from him when he gets to Kansas. He won't be the man there.

Get them a Big 12 championship, a #1 seed in the tourney, and an early round exit. It's the Bill Self way.

LMAO

Bill Self's last 10 seasons:

National Champion
National Runner Up
Three Elite Eights
Two Sweet 16
Three Round of 32

27 wins, 9 losses

Yeah, so other than going to at least a S16 70% of the time, that stat is spot on.

Pfft.

Coach K's last 10 years:

Two National Champions
One Elite Eight
Three Sweet 16's
Two Round of 32's
Two Round of 64's

21 wins, 8 losses

In 14 years, Self has:
  • 2 Final Fours
  • 5 Elite Eight losses
  • 5 first-weekend exits, including three as a No. 1 or No. 2 seed
  • 1 title

Say what you want, but when you’re seeded No. 1 a total of six times and No. 2 or 3 a total of five times then you can't deny that it's a disappointment to be 2-4 in Elite Eights and 2-6 at making the Final Four from the Sweet 16.

You're clearly playing below your seed, and thus, underachieving. It's a little ironic that his one championship is against the other coach who chronically gets ridiculed for his underachieving.

Exactly

I lived in KS for 7 years and just 45 mins from Lawrence. If Self hadn't won that championship in '08 he would have been let go in the next couple years. Cal saved Self's arse

Wrong...the question was what top 5 program would take them WITH Keelon. And the answer is none, none of the top programs wanted Keelon AND the boys, no package deal.

There were offers

So Keelon said but he said a lot things even in this interview that weren't consistent. I understand he's your buddy, makes sense, but from a top 5 program, I don't think so.

Do you think Calipari has underachieved at Kentucky?

Besides, I didn't ignore anything. I simply stated some facts that can't be argued and for some reason a couple of you have a problem with that.

No, actually your initial statement was that "early round exits are the Bill Self way" even though 9 0f 14 years he's gone to at least a S16.

Well, I'd say 5 first round exits (as a 3 seed, 4 seed, 1 seed, 2 seed, and 2 seed) is pretty disappointing, but in my one-off joke I suppose it would have indeed been more accurate to say "exiting the tournament before you're supposed to is the Bill Self way."

I get it. To you, every year the final four isn't comprised of the four number one seeds, then some coach underachieved. I'd say it is just as likely that those doing the seeding underachieved. To each his own.

its called leverage. elite coaches at elite programs will not allow an overzealous parent to run their program, because they have 5 other kids of equal talent waiting in the wings that don't offer the same headaches.

Sweet.

If the juco acts up next year, Tubman will just sit him for the D2 cat.

I respect Tubby for running the program his way. It may work, it may not, but he's going to do it his way and not be held hostage by a parent.

yep, agreed.

Not athletic enough and doesn't have the intensity. Can't teach either.

But you said he was pimping his kids out to get a better job. That's obviously not the case, so now you change tack to say he couldn't get a top 5 job.

Again, for all of these Keelon haters....the man was demoted - after being promised he would retain his job by the administration - and then frozen out by Tubby and staff. Why wouldn't anyone quit under those circumstances?

5 times when seeded 1, 2, or 3. The bigger point this dude is making is that he's a chronic underachiever which is proven with facts but noticeably ignored by you.
