Note: I didn't waver in my fandom, but I'm not going to now be silly and condemn some kids for not shaking a hand of Tubby when I've at least tacitly supported much worse.

First of all, I'm not outraged. I just think it shows some things about character.

Secondly, I never supported Dorsey, Dozier, Hunt, etc. And quite honestly, I kinda covered my nose during the entire Cal era. We all knew he was a slimeball...if we're being honest.

C'mon man, you've heard the stories on the Lawson family - let me clarify, I've heard that Dedric is a really good young man, but it's a total 180 for the dad & the rest of the brothers. Again, just hearsay, but there's been an awful lot of hearsay. And do you really want to tie your coaches hand in who he hires and recruits. I don't think Cal would have put up with that!

Actually, I wasn't at all happy when we hired Cal. It was going into my Senior year, and I assumed two things: 1) we'd be dirty/bogus (Dozier, Dorsey, Banks and Hunt are all perfect examples, thanks for that), and 2) we'd win. We did both. And what do we have to show for it - some fun basketball seasons and we're not in a P5. Not what I would have signed up for.

More importantly, I was bothered by the idea of going "all in" in basketball when we hired Cal, when it was clearly evident that our #1 peers, Louisville & Cinci, were moving toward football. Again, we had some fun basketball seasons (even the one that was vacated) and we're not in a P5.

So, the way I see it, let Tubby rebuild the basketball program (going to take a few years) and in the meantime, continue to support the team, go to games, etc.
