RE: Spring game thread
Coach Clark and staff's eye for talent seems to be good. Looks like they have all the right guys in the 1 and 2 group. Even moved guys into positions to help the team. Lee is going to be a beast. The 3s and 4s didn't look great all the time but there are some guys who will fit in good if they make it in the rotation with the top group. The freshmen who come in the fall will add to our depth. Coach has to be happy with today. Glad we waited two years like he wanted.

If I was a DC of an opposing team, I would commit to first stopping UAB's run game and make UAB score through the air. I saw signs that we can do both and that foretells a good season. Most of our September starters were on the field today.

"None of the (17 member) BOT was in attendance at the UAB spring game". Would anyone believe they will also skip the "A Day" game in T-Town? I see it as circumstantial testimony to how the program came to be shut down 12/2/14, and why a president with so many votes of "no confidence" from so many campus groups is still in office. He did what they hired him to do.

If you wanted to send the message that "I am no longer a wholly owned asset of Bryant Bank," making yourself seen yesterday would be about the most effective way to do that.

Unless your name is Ray Watts, according to the many UAB fans that posted negatively about his presence there.

Ray can strip naked, paint himself green and gold, and dance down University Blvd chugging Royal Cup and singing Ever Faithful and he'll still be Junior's Lil' Pumpkin.

To be fair, his interview on al.com didn't really do much to help his image. For someone like Watts, just showing up only gets him about 10% there

Pretty telling that even the UAB "voices" on the board weren't there for the game.

Yeah, maybe you don't go to every spring game, but this year's was a BIG freakin' deal!

You can tell that Ray is still protecting his reasons for his decisions by him continuing to mention that the support for the program is now here.

Well, yeah. Do you really expect him to come out and say he was ordered to cancel the program by Paul Bryant Jr and Beauregard St John the Twelfth?

From what I have read on BT, the "UAB voices" on the BOT are connected by employment to the Bryant Bank &/or to the Crimson Tide by blood relationship. Either way, UAB's influence on them would be compromised.
